Feeling sorry for myself :(

#1 Post by bojangles »

I've just had my third molar out, I'm due to have a forth one out in two weeks.

The first two I had out are healing nicely but I'm finding chewing things virtually impossible because there are no teeth in the place I usually chew with!

If someone could give me some reassurance that this will get better I'd really appreciate it :)

chewing

I had 4 molars taken out all at once (2 top, 2 bottom) so I know what you mean. I've learned that when I need to chew i either nibble with front teeth or push way back to where there is a molar...

The good part is that I eat more slowly, so I consume less. You get used to it....

I unexpectedly lost a molar during osseous surgery, and that was a bummer! It hurt pretty bad the first day, but after that it was fine. It was one of the molars I relied on for chewing though, so I had to start using the other side to chew. That took some adjustment.

I hope your recovery has gone well!
