OUCH

#1 Post by ¤sabrina¤ »

I still havent gotten my braces yet, thats happening next week, but i do have 4 molar bands in
i was having a burger today, eating on the left side, and i ended up biting down on my right cheek, then it stuck to the stuff on the outside of the band and sorta ripped my cheek
it hurts, i have since waxed down that band i just hope it doesnt turn into a canker sore
when im sleeping and i lie on that side i realise im clenching bit of i sleep on my left side i dont seem to clench
since the bands have gone in my bite does seem slightly off

you poor thing! I hope everything settles down a bit for you. I am getting braced next week, but I have 8 spacers in my mouth at the moment. And I have also noticed that my bite has been off since getting spacers. But i'm sure once you and I will get braces, our bite will improve. Good luck with your journey! Keep us posted.

I am having the same issues with spacers. My bite has changed significantly. Continue to use the wax, it will get better. Today is my brace day 10am to be exact.

Wax

#4 Post by betterlatethannever »

As brace day approaches in the next couple of weeks, I'm trying to get my ducks in a row. I see that wax reduces discomfort when the brackets or molar bands rub against the cheek and tongue. Makes perfect sense to me.

My question is, how do you get it off? I'm envisioning it must get wedged in there pretty good. Do you pick it out or brush it out with a toothbrush?

Like I said, I'm a planner so I just have to know how this all works. I work full time and travel a great deal so I want to make sure I'm prepared to handle these situations from the road.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Carlette
