Aligners and spaces between teeths
Hi Im new to this. I just gotten my clincheck today. My teeths are very ugly and the dentiste said that in 20 years of carrer, he never saw something like this. So, invisalign will be my mericle. I will have a smile for the first time. Not a new smile cause I do not smile do to my teeth probleme cause I hide them and I do a good gob at it. So, à was wondering if we see the aligners alot when we have spaces between teeths? my ortho. said he will have invisaligne make place to fill in with somthing white so that we dont see a big spot of plastic or something.. Do anyone have that problème ?

Thanks for the reply. I have alot of spaces between alot of teeths so I realy needed this info. People never talks about this. I'll see how it turns out. For this other trays, how does it work... do you have to see your dentist for each trays to get them filled in or ... ? do they do it before and you can still change your trays at home ? Is it a probleme whn you take them off and put them back in ?
Your dentist or ortho will fill them beforehand, so you'll still get several sets of trays to take home with you. I mostly didn't have any problems with them, though at some points the fillings were liable to pop out sometimes. But I usually just stuck them back in and it wasn't a big deal. They won't affect how your trays feel or how you take them out or put them in, though.
Hello! I know, unfortunately there isn't much information on how the aligners look when you have spaces.
I don't know if you are talking about extraction spaces or natural spaces, I guess it doesn't really make much of a difference but I have a couple of natural gaps(and a large one between my two front teeth) and I was never given anything. To tell you the truth, when you wear the aligners, they really minimize the appearance of the spaces.
I have pictures in my blog of what my teeth look like with the aligners in, and also what they look like without the aligners on and to tell you the truth, it is one of the reasons I eat so quickly because my spaces look so much smaller with the aligners in my mouth! What a bonus.
I am only on my 6th aligner and I can already see a big difference in the aligners themselves. There was a large "triangle" of plastic between my front teeth in the first aligner and now it is almost gone with this current set.

I like the title of your blog Learning how to smile. I realy have to learn how to do that. By the way, I find it impressive how the aligners makes your gaps smaller. I havent started my treatment yet. Got my clinckeck on the 3rd of april, Im still waiting and find it very long.

You know, I picked the title because I couldn't think of a name other than "My invisalign blog" and thought I was being kind of clever because I WOULD have to learn how to smile, at least opened mouthed since I hadn't done that since I was about seven and then once I go to the ortho to get my first set he gives me the little plastic invisalign bag with my aligner cases and other sets and right on the side of the bag is "Learn how to smile again." Ha ha ha ha.
Yeah, they really do minimize the gaps! It is really encouraging and really makes me wear the aligners like 23 hours a day. Not only that, I find that they just make the teeth look better -whiter, and they make my front teeth look wider and not so stick like, plus they make the teeth more even by making my other teeth look bigger to line up better with the front teeth.
I hope yours come in soon! Waiting is the hardest!

Yah I know how it is to smile without showing teeths. The good thing is, soon we'll have nicer teeths then the other people that we thought had nice teeths. thats gonna be soo good for the ego. Im just jealus your aligners came in so fast. Maybe its cause Im on the east side of this big country. Soon, while the canadien of montréal will hold the stanley cup, ill be looking at how the aligners are working and then few months later, will smile full teeth and others will be jealus of us.
Im at University right now and cant wright to much so till next time, may your aligners work your teeths into place!

Yeah, I feel fortunate mine came in so fast. Thing is, because I am used to this short time, when it comes time for me to get refinements I will probably have to wait like 2 months and then I'll be going insane.
You think the Canadiens will win? Well, it would be nice for Canada to have the cup again....
I am in university right now too, finals time! Ack! Hope all this waiting isn't distracting you from your studies!

Well I have been waiting for almost one month and I have been going insane. I geuss after awhile I just got used to it. I spoke to the receptionist today and she said it cold take 2 months
I dont know if thats reasonable. People often speaks of waiting 2 weeks. She sais that my aliners are still at the lad. and that shed call to check out whats going on.
For the université part, yah it did have a bad effect on my notes. I was having an average of 93%, went down to about 80% maybe more. Thats very bad.
If you have to wait 2 months, you'll see that you get used to it about 3 weeks later. The good thing is Im at least half way there.
