Any way to whiten clear ligatures?

#1 Post by NKovaci88 »

I have an important event to attend next week, and I noticed that my clear ligatures are looking a bit yellow-ish. I slipped up yesterday and had some Indian food (I couldn't resist!) :?

Is there any way to whiten them? I use whitening toothpaste, but it hasn't really made much difference.

Any ideas?!

Brush with a little bit of hydrogen peroxide. I've heard that works pretty good.

or have them changed.

My office offers free changes between appointments (which I have every 6 weeks). Personally, I didn't really feel a need yet despite frequent coffee/Indian or Chili consumption. The ligs turn a tad yellow over time, but it doesn't bother me much. After all, I'm European, and we care less about the whiteness of our teeth or smiles :)

And truth be told, if I started worrying over the truly minor coloring of my ligs, I would have to worry even more about the color of my braces, and the shadows they put on my teeth so they look yellow except for the tips which looks really odd, and then the general appearance of the metal mouth and the emerging gaps between my teeth which look brownish/black despite being metaculously clean... no, in that overall journey of TMJ pain, bite plate, poking braces and wires, weight loss, less fun in eating and so on, I think the coloring of the ligs comes in as a minor nuisance to me.

But if you feel the need and your office is conveniently close, have them changed, it takes only a couple of minutes.
