Love your electric toothbrush? Hate that yucky mouthwash? Can't live without that terrific threader floss? Got a fave canker sore remedy? Here's where you can post your opinions and reviews of specific products relating to dental hygiene and your braces. Tell others what works....and what doesn't!
Has anyone been using this, and if so would they recommend it or not? Principle conerns are:
1. Does it hurt?
2. Does inserting the tip below the gumline do anything bad to your gums?
3. Does the pressure/simply spraying water/solution in there make your gum start to recede/separate from clinging to the tooth?
I was wondering whether to buy a waterpik. I had never heard of them before and the ad on their website sounded good but reading the comments about it may cause gums to recede and needing lower pressure to prevent gum damage has put me off it a bit. Also they are not exactly cheap to buy are they?
I just bought a waterpick this past weekend and to be honest I am a complete moron using it but after giving it a try a couple of times and not splashing the whole bathroom with water, I think it works pretty good.
Since I have sensitive gums, I use the lower pressure. The one I got has an orthodontic tip which is special for braces. It is way faster than flossing.
I don't think it's expensive... ard 30 pounds (UK), probably around $30-40.
I've inherited a WP360 without a charger, so ordered that today (but cld take some time cos paid via cheque!). Only plan to try it on the lowest setting, but will report back after a few days of testing
