Because I'm an alternative-gal, I have an allergic reaction to stuff with LOTS of petro-chemicals in them, I find Vrindavan Organic Lemon Lip Balm from Nambour in Queensland works the best for me. I can buy it from "Healthy Life" health food shops in Sydney.

Plus it helps in my line of work. I work around welding machines and get sun burnt from them.

I use Aveda Lip Saver almost all the time. I will sometimes use a Lush lipbalm as well, but nothing works as well as my beloved Aveda balm. Its a true staple for me, especially since I got the braces on.

I just won a Decleor goodie pack so I'm currently using their lip balm which is heaven! It smells like cinnamon and vanilla and has a gorgeous gloss to it.

But before that I was using Shizen Lip Balm which has a lemongrass smell.

I stay well clear of petroleum based balms because they don't actually do anything for your lips at all. Nasty!

I like the Badger Lip Balms. They are all natural and taste great. I will be getting my braces on March 4th. and I will be using it then :-)

I'm using Clinique Superbalm Lip Treatment. It smooths out my dry, chapped, and cracked lips in no time. I've heard that wearing lip balm to bed helps, but my hair is long and always gets stuck to my lips when I roll around.

I'm also trying to drink more water.

I use burt's bees regular and carmex, and I wear lipstick. I always put something on before I go to bed.

Burt's Bee's pomegranate lip balm is really good. All their products are good. Also, plain Vaseline works well. If you have a cheap lipstick that is kind of waxy (like Max Factor or Jane) just put some vaseline on your lower lip and the lipstick on top and then rub your lips together and you will have a really smooth creamy color, like Estee Lauder or Clinique quality for pennies on the dollar... Also I'm cheap (clearly) so I don't actually use Vaseline I use 'meijer petroleum jelly.' :)

That's something that I just can't do since getting braced... rubbing my lips together, keep forgetting though and boy it hurts when I try

yea its hard for me to rub my lips together as well, i have to sorta stick them out an then get them to meet
but i started to use plain ole vaseline since yesterday
after i got my lower braces on, my lip seems to be swollen on top and dry all over and all my lip balms were irritating it and making it tingle and burn and itch
i put some cetaphil cream yesterday on it but last nite i tried the vaseline and im loving it
