when i rinse after eating, i think most of the food comes out, i asked the dentist if i could put my nail an scrape out anything white i see and he told me no leave it alone
im only eating on the left side tho and i try to keep the food to the back

im not sure what exactly the molar bands are for, but i read that when u have fillings going down the side of the molar they put the band insted of just the bracket with tubes as that sometimes doesnt stick to the tooth

Hi Miss Chastity,

Just read your back story, and by the sounds of it you are a month or so ahead of me, and by the looks of it youve had some pretty big movers in that time. Your teeth are gunna look awesome.

I feel your pain with the rice in the extraction zones i had 4 big molers out and i can get about a wok full of rice in the holes,

How old are you, is this something youve had issues with for a long time or is it only now your a little older. im 27 myself and i can honestly say that i lost plenty of sleep over it.

But hey ho, here we go, braced up and heading toward tegular normality :)

again, ace looking mouth, all the best

big hug \o/

Martin

Thank you for your kind words.

I'm only 18, so I'm probably one of the youngest ones here. Yes, it is definitely something that I've had issues about for as long as I can remember. Nearly everyone I knew had these perfect teeth and there I was, haha.

Here's to us! :D

Ok, so it has been three months since I've had these things. I still haven't had any trouble, except about a month ago I started to grind at night. My ortho said it was expected, because of the movement. They said that there was some damage on my back teeth from it, I don't know what they plan to do about it though. Hopefully once my teeth get more used to their new positions it will subside.

My last appointment was March 31, and they scheduled my next appointment two months later. I think because they are waiting on my right lateral to get a little more into place. She tied it with wire at my March 31 appointment. I've gone back twice for new bands. Mustard is my enemy.

Too bad I could eat mustard out of the bottle, I love it so much. I've always drank tea or soda (don't drink sodas much though) through a straw so that helps prevent staining, but that mustard kills me. haha

On to the pictures.

Hi Miss Chastity

Wow  your teeth are looking amazing. I cant believe that you have only been in your braces for three months. I am super jealous.

Also its hard to see that you may be in your braces for two years with the progress that you have made so far.

You must be super happy so far.

Congratulations on you upcoming graduation!!

All the best

Thanks guys! I'm so amazed at the progress so far, hopefully I won't need to wear them the estimated two years! That would be great!

I still have a lot of work that needs to be done, other than just straightening my teefs  I have a bad overbite and my jaw shape is uneven, along with a few other things my ortho found that I can't remember...
And those extraction gaps need to close!

Do you guys think they will put me in power chains for that? And when?

Miss Chastity,
I'm so amazed to see how fast your teeth have moved!!! I'm 29 years old now and just started braces 3 weeks ago. It was quite a struggle to finally decide to do it. I also had 2 premolar extracted very similar to yours, due to an overbite. However, I'm really scared whether the extraction gaps will close or not, since I opted not to have their lower biting pairs extracted. Do you think you might be able to show a side shot of your upper and lower biting together, just so that I can tell whether your overbite is also similar to mine? And sorry to ask a pretty dumb question here: How do you guys take a nice picture of your teeth by yourself? I tried a whole night last night but just would not get a clear focused shot *^_^*
Thanks a lot and keep the nice work of updating!!!
Best,
Sarah

I can definitely get a shot of that for you! I will try to get around to it this weekend :D

To take my pictures I just try to make sure I have good lighting and hold the camera (I take mine on my cell) very still. Sometimes you have to take a few of shots before you get a decent one. Just practice I guess!
If you have a macro setting, use that.

Thanks :]

I used to use Crest Whitestrips every so often before braces so I'm sure that's why my teeth are nice and white! Also, I never drink anything that could stain my teeth, and now my clear ligs, without a straw.

You're welcome, Piglet!
