Shaving

#1 Post by Sweet Escape »

Ok, I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact I won't be able to shave for at least 3 days post surgery but what about beyond that.

I usually shave everyday and if I leave it too long I'll look completely scruffy and like a freak with a puffy face.
How long are you usually about to bring a blade to your face post surgery?

cheers!

... if shaving is like makeup, I don't think I was comfortable putting makeup on for at least a week after surgery. I had upper though, and part of my sensitivity was related to the nose. :)

I'm in the waiting stage like you. My ortho suggested that I get used to an electric shaver prior to surgery. I'm planning on trying to shave two days later.

I've never shaved my face (no, I don't have a really long beard, I'm a girl! haha, ha.) but I found even washing my face very uncomfortable for about a week after surgery.

Its been a little over a week since my surgery and I have quite a beard going. I trimmed it but I figured eh... why shave? I have a good excuse as to why i have not shaved so work wont get mad at me, and its kinda fun to try somthing new for awhile. Plus I can't feel half my face anyway or all i feel is the tingling/pain so there is no itchy-ness... I say roll with it! haha

I didn't shave for a long time. In fact I still rarely shave my chin because I'm still a little numb in the center and it feels weird. I used an electric on the sides of my face and just let the chin grow. You can probably notice it in a lot of my pics. Its an incredibly weird sensation to shave your chin while numb. Its difficult too. I just skip that part, even now, over 5 months later. I definitely suggest to go electric.

Oh god this has gotten me worried.

I'm a perfectionist when it comes to shaving, and I can deal with not shaving for a week.

I'll ask the surgeon when I see him next but yeah, hopefully its not too bad.

Can you possibly expand on the chin bit KarlClayLA?
Does it hurt to shave?

Ha, I was going to post a topic on this...it seems that getting an electric razor is the best bet.
