Am I going backwards?

#1 Post by Dutch »

I had my third adjustment the other day and I think I'm going backwards.
My ortho is closing 1 gap at a time on my bottom teeth the goal is to make room for implants for molar 30 & 31, We started with just an arch wire then added a second wire to my brackets and a power chain This closed my mid line gap very well, He wired 4 of my teeth together so they would no longer move and power chained the next tooth over it also closed the gap very quickly. At my last adjustment he moved the power chain over to the next tooth but did not wire tie the newly closed gap and it immediately opened back up and larger then before. They said it may open a little but I feel like I wasted 6 weeks. Anyone else have this happen? I don't go back in for 6 weeks.????????

I'd call the ortho- maybe you can go back in sooner and they can do something about it. Maybe they forgot to wire it shut? Or maybe they are planning something to close it back? Either way, I'd call!
