Looking for Basic Invisalign Information

#1 Post by invis24 »

I have been trying to find information on the internet about Invisalign braces and what people think about them, but I haven't been able to find all that much. Does anyone know any good websites that have personal experiences or recommendations about Invisalign (or can anyone give one :D )??

I have been able to find these sites:

http://invisalign.wordpress.com/
http://www.hodulik.com/2005/06/20/invisalign/
http://www.duf.net/mtlog/duf/archives/2003_08.html
http://www.43things.com/things/view/19185

The rest of the websites that I have found are all dentists or people trying to sell the braces (which all have the same information).

Thanks!

HI!
Have you read through all of the invisaligh posts on this site?

There are some really good personal accounts here. A few have links to other sites.

If you haven't already read through them, please do; I don't have invisalign but I am quite intrigued!

I think some of the invisalign wearers here have suggested this site: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/InvisalignUsers/

It has more success stories than Archwired does. You have to join first, but it's free, fast and easy.

GOOD LUCK with your search and your orthodontic future  !!

Thanks for your quick reply! I have read through a couple other postings on the site about Invisalign, but a lot of them seem negative. Thanks for the link to the Yahoo! Groups site, I'll definately check that out! I have already had my impressions taken and should be getting my first Invisaligns soon. I was just curious if anyone had any tips or anything about them? Thanks again!

I just got finnished poking around the InvisalignUsers's group and that site is awesome!! It didn't take too long to sign up and have lots of information relating to Invisalign.

I thought about getting several different consultations, but I figured that Invisalign probably keeps records of people that call and would give the same price. I am doing Invisalign through a dentist, but from what I can tell he has many cases as she is one of 2 Invisalign providers in my city (there are 3 OrthoClear dental/ortho individuals). It is the same dentist I have seen forever and he has never pushed any kinds of braces and I was the one that wanted to get Invisalign to fix two of my front teeth.

I do wish I would have known more of the differences between Invisalign and traditonal braces compared to what I know now...like about the tooth shaving and buttons and stuff like that. I also wish I could have known about the possibility of Invisalign not working, I just figured it was just like regular braces and they would be straight at the end of treatment. This is sort of troubling...I'd be mad if they didn't work.

Well I should get my aligners in a few weeks, we'll see! Thanks for the advice!!!
