Another one bites the brace..:)

#1 Post by spartanforever »

So after years and years of hidden smiles, I've decided to get some orthodontic treatment. For some reason, I did not get them growing up and I could not afford them in college. I can finally afford them now and believe it or not I'm actually excited and not dreading wearing them..am I the only one??

I have severe crowding on my bottom teeth, and my upper teeth need some major work as well..I'm getting ceramic braces (on June 12) on my upper teeth first to get my bite corrected and then will move on to the bottom teeth.

I'll keep you guys posted on my progress..will upload pics soon.. :)

And oh, did i mention that this site/board rocks??

YAY! Good for you for making the decision and going ahead with braces.

I'm like you - I'm happy to have the braces. I used to hide my teeth before but now I smile wide...because I know that I'm FINALLY getting my teeth sorted.

You'll have times of discomfort/pain etc...but just know that it will all be worth it in the end.

Congrats on biting into the process! Yes, there will be some discomfort --- but once you start noticing the changes, you won't be able to stop smiling!

I was in your shoes just a short 20 months ago. I went ahead and did it, knowing it was something I have ALWAYS wanted.

I was given a date to have them taken off just this week... and I have almost paid them off too. : ))

SO exciting, and SO worth it. Not always easy, but I am so happy with the decision I made 2 years ago to do it...

Thanks for the encouragement - I'm slowly bracing (no pun intended) for the day i get wired! I'm eating all the chewy gooey food I can right now.

Spartanfever-
Congratulations on your brace day! I, too, am quite excited about this new venture. Unfortunately, I needed some work done ahead of time so I can't get the braces until August. I guess it will be here before I know it!
Anyway, I am glad to find some fellow travelers just starting out on their journey. GOOD LUCK next week!
The longest journey begins with a single step.
