I'm think I'm thrilled! - the dentist gave me approx 18-24 months for the invisaglin treatment. Got my first set today and they are 13 upper and 11 lower.
Am I right in thinking that all going well and not including adjustments I should be finished by Christmas?
Got my invisalign today

Sorry, should have clarified. During my first consultation with the ortho she advised that the procedure would probably be 18-24 months. So you can imagine my delight in seeing only 13U and 11L
I just wanted to make sure my 6 month calculation was right and I wasn't missing something.
I was first told by my ortho that is would be at least 15 months. When I went in to review the Clincheck the asst. told me I qualified for the Express. I wear 10 aligners for 3 weeks apiece. I am on my 2nd aligner. No problems. The 2nd pair do fit tighter which is ok with me, lets me know they are working. I should be done by Christmas. Does anyone else wear them for 3 weeks at a time? I brush them with toothpaste when I brush my teeth and sometimes pour mouthwash in them to freshen them up. I use tweezers to get them out. When I eat I fix my plate or make my sandwich, etc. and at the last minute go take them out. This minimizes the time that they are out. I probably only have them out about 45 min. a day. These are just some things that I have figured out that are good tips. No one notices them until I tell them. I think they look better in because they make your teeth look whiter and shinier.
I also just got mine yesterday. 15 upper and as of right now, 0 lower. My bottom teeth aren't completely perfect and I expressed some concern, but my dentist told me that we're gonna worry about the top now and can always do one or two trays on the bottom later. I also got four attachments thrown on. The actual invisalign doesn't hurt, it's trying to pry the tray off over the attachments that hurts!
I've also 4 attachments but one is on my upper front tooth which is a bit annoying. All my teeth are feeling tender today but not too much hassle getting them on and off. I'm hoping by the weekend they'll feel a lot more normal & my tongue will stop ripping itself off the inner lower alignerFeilon wrote:I also just got mine yesterday. 15 upper and as of right now, 0 lower. teacher61 - I used to prepare the food like you did to minimize the time I had my aligners out, but after 5-10 trays I got sick of doing it. I used to have them out about 2 hours each day, but now it's 3-3.5 hours per day. Keep it up if you can.
And I'm always surprised at how many people were never given a plastic hook to help take the aligners out. I don't think I could do it without the hook especially when they are new and tight. My fingernails are short and I think I'd rip them off if I tried using my fingers. I use the white hook in the picture. It works great for me especially with my attachments. People should ask their dentist or orthodontist for a hook.
