What are these stages you speak of?

#1 Post by HisBabygirl »

Okay, guys, i've been braced since Feb 4, 2008 and have had 5 adjustments so far. i think at the 3 month mark, my ortho took off a couple of my brakets and rearranged them so she could get the desired movement. Since then, she's just been using power chains to close my gaps.

This last adjustment, I told her about how on my lower right side, the teeth are shorter and maybe we should try bringing them up. She said I had a good eye and that she would but that right now we are working on closing the gaps and that there are "stages" that they go by. Umm..what?

Does anyone know what she's talking about?? :?

Are those molars or canine or premolars? I have a similar problem that my lower 1st molars are shorter than other molars (probably due to my massive cavity and intensive repair, the biting surface are completely reconstructed and shaped to get my bite right from before) They are in molar bands now, can those teeth in molar bands also be brought up taller? I'm asking this is because the bite of my molars need to be moved, so they need to be on one surface. I'm going to ask my ortho next time, but if anyone has any idea now, it'll be great.
