Good luck with the eating! I lost about 10 pounds in the first week.. I started off at 110 lbs and I'm 5'4 so it was a lot. I stopped losing weight after I found Carnation Instant Breakfast though I've only tried the vanilla flavour but it tastes amazing and is pretty easy to drink because its's no thicker than milk. Also- if you are a Starbucks/ coffee person, try getting a frappucino or any other blended coffee drink then wait until it's all melted so that its not too thick, then stir it up- tastes good and has lots of calories (especially with whipped cream) -not sure how healthy it is though, but can't be more unhealthy than not eating lol
i tried starbucks, and i drank an entire frappucino. this will definitely help my weight loss situation.
i will try the carnation instant breakfast, too. thank you so much.
and my nose... all that was done was my bottom jaw was moved back 3 mm and my top jaw was moved forward 3 mm. the forward motion of my top jaw corrected my nose. yes, only 3mm. it's crazy.
as far as i know it's common. i know that some people don't have to, or don't have to for very long. but the type of procedure i had done is the reason i will be wired for 6 weeks. i think it all depends on your person case.
i feel great, besides missing food terribly. i really really love food, and it's really hard for me not to have any. and i'm only 2/6th of the way there.
but under the circumstances, i am doing just fine.
so i saw my surgeon yesterday, and he says everything is looking great. no signs of infection, and my swelling/numbness is less than usual. but... i got some bad news. i was expecting to be wired shut a maximum of six weeks, so that is what i prepared myself for. a part of me even hoped for wired shut four weeks, and bands for two weeks. but he says i will be wired shut 6-8 weeks, and then rubber banded really tightly (still shut) for weeks afterward. WHY? i cannot fathom not eating solid food that long. it is really getting to me. food is one of my passions in life, and i am beginning to look anorexic. i need a time machine. and fast.
oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that! Even though i'm only 4 days post-op, I FEEL YOUR PAIN! This liquid diet thing is already getting old. IM ALWAYS HUNGRY! no matter how much I suck down. But just think, solid food will be that much more incredible once your wires are cut!
I can understand your feeling of frustration about this stage of your recovery.
Know that the next few weeks are going to fly by for you, and before you know it, you will be there. And at moments when you feel particularly frustrated, you can just jump ahead in your mind to the time when it will all be over, and remember how good it will feel...
