Hi, and thank you for your comments on staining. I guess I was confused cause my hygienist said the teeth under the braces cld stain permanently, but this seemed strange if they clean thm up after... I clean my teeth really carefully, but last few days have also started rubbing the interdental brush quite firmly around the brackets on my top arch. Seems a good idea...
I notice you had an adjustment at the end of July. Hope it went well..

Really nice to hear from you! Hope the braces are going well! Let's keep beating those gum problems!
PS I've written something more on your story.

Thank you for your brilliant comments. Yes, you are right that we bracefaces do serve as a reminder to those that aren't looking after themselves and that they don't like it! Last time I got a nasty comment I was taken aback cause there hadn't been 1 for a while, but the next day said 'oh, at least my lower lip is bigger than usual, and this isn't for ever'. Most people are great, either don't notice/say, or positive comments eg 'yr front tooth looks so much better'.

Thank you for yr comments. They were really useful. Yes, I think you are right that immaturity is another reason for making nasty comments, or simply not being able to just think and not speak! People can be immature at any age (maybe sadly!) I also honestly think that getting braces can make u a stronger person, and that can take some people by surprise, too... Yea, going on to the end of yr post, I think ignoring is a gd way, and getting braces teaches us to do that..

Hi, and thanks for the comments on clean teeth. Yea, I think I will keep doing what I'm told, visit the hygienist and try not to worry!!
The new wire didn't feel like anything ie no pain, but I've had spots in my mouth in new places, so something must be happening....
As for lack of pain with new wire - I'm sometimes a bit funny with pain ie don't get it when others do, and eg I never get headaches. Still, I think this lack of pain mgt be cause it was still a 'beginner' wire (least from other post on the site I understand wires will get a lot bigger..).
The US was really great. Saw so much in NYC - all the great buildings eg Woolworth and Chrysler and lots of museums (I'm crazy on art) and then a week in Vermont... It was really beautiful there, and got to talk to a lot of people (such a nice change from being tongue-tied in countries in Europe..), which was v interesting, and went on some hikes through the woods to the tops of mountains/hills (all the views at the top only, v different from the UK). So all good. Also picked up a lot of new words (eg stop lights for traffic lights), which are disappearing now...
Braces put on April 8th
