Refinements

What exactly is involved with refinements? I am on my 8th tray out of 10. One of my front teeth is shorter than the other. With refinements do they take molds again? How many refinements are there? Everything has gone perfectly except with the hassle of having to take them out to eat. No one notices them except if I tell them I have them. I actually like them because it makes my teeth look perfect and whiter.
