Bracket door open and wire not going in...

#1 Post by Flaka »

On my last adjustment last wednesday, it seems like one of the little doors wasn't close all the way, or is it my imagination?

I tried to push the wire in but is a rectangular bit thick one and it is not going in. I don't want to bend it or do any damage to it.

Should I wait till mid Jan to have them fix it, or should I call on Monday?

Any advice will be appreciated.

Does it look like its not closed?

Mine was the same way after my October adjustment. I would definitely call. I didn't notice mine until about a week before my next adjustment (not sure how long it was like that). At my appointment the ortho mentioned that sometimes it happens. I noticed a couple of mine were like yours and only one was I able to push back in.

I would call because you don't want to set back treatment time, no matter how small of an amount it is.

I have three doors open on my bottom teeth. I was told since I have the power chains it didn't matter. Your brackets would kind of work like traditional tied brackets. A lot of the self ligating systems doors have a hard time closing with thicker wires or the fact that the brackets are not lined up. I would still ask to be safe.

Thanks for the advice guys. I called in today and will go in tomorrow to get that wire in and the door closed.

roost22, yes, that is a rectangular wire, had rectangular since my 2nd adjustment. Maybe is the light.
