Welcome MartiniGirl!
My initial consultation was on December 17th, and they booked my Brace day for February 2nd. It has been pretty unbearable getting through these weeks, but the big day is coming up soon.
I am also getting the Damon style brackets. I opted for the half clear/half metal brackets for my top arch, and the full metal brackets on the bottom, what about you?

hi
im new too. im gettingmine put on on the 3rd of feb. and i thought it was just me, but yeh it is kinda unbearable. i decided not to go with the damon system, just the regular ones with the colored bands. might wanna get wild and have bright green ones put on. lol not likely. : ) but who knows. i wanted to get clear on the top but my ortho said the clear ones weren't as strong and the ones on the top needed to be able to move my teeth with out breaking. im kinda pouting cause she makes it seem like my teeth are horrible. they're not that bad. lol anyway i look forward to reading about your journey into ortho.

Welcome! I had a long wait from initial consult to braces, partly because the only cephalograph machine in the city is at the dental school, and my consult was in August, so I had to wait three weeks for the school to open again! My consult was I think August 21st, then my ceph was September 12th, upper braced October 22nd and lowers on December 3rd! So I'm not too long into them myself, but already super glad I got 'em!
Initial Consult: August 22nd, 2008
Upper Arch Bracketed: October 22nd, 2008
Lower Arch Bracketed: December 3rd, 2008
Debraced: October 15th, 2009

glad to see I've got a few others starting this journey with me.... This will be fun!
Let's talk about something other than "braced talk"
I will start...
37 years old, born and raised in Texas now living in a VERY small town about 45 minutes southwest of Fort Worth. I am divorced, I have one adopted daughter, she is 3 1/2 and the absolute light and love of my life. She keeps me on my toes, that's for sure... such a little DIVA!
I've been doing payroll/HR work for about 15 years. Although I loved living in the city and working in the corporate world I opted for a quiter, safer place to raise my daughter so I moved to the country... I now work for a school district in the business office doing payroll.
My hobbies/passions are:
*researching everything and anything that pops in my head on the internet
*writing (I'm currently working on the story of our adoption, we have an
open adoption with my daughter's birthmother. It's not the typical
adoption story of waiting to adopt for years through an agency, the
birthmother and I met online on an adoption message board)
*reading
*music, I enjoy a wide variety of music, love anything with meaningful,
deep, clever lyrics
*crafts/floral designing
*and last but not least... MARTINIS!! I love trying new concoctions
anyways.... that's me in a nutshell
Would love to hear from anyone who wants to pipe in with a little blurb about themselves

I'm New Too
Had the braces put on yesterday. I know it will be worth it in the long run.
lets see i'll say something about myself. i'm 27 live in texas and work as a dental assistant. i love it too! i have 2 little girls, who are just... my everything. life would be so dull without them. lol all the fighting and screaming with each other. lol one is 6 and one is 2. um i'm pretty boring actually. i don't get out to terribly much, but when i do you'll usually find me at barns & noble. i love to read. i probably have 12 books that i have started reading and then started another one so i never finished the first one. anyway well i hope to read some about more people on here.
the braces are going on in 61 hrs and 45 mins.... but whos counting
im getting excited, but i'm nervous too.
