20 years young braced 3/2/09 pics inside..

#1 Post by *tap* »

hey all, so... here i am all braced up looking guurrd NOT!! so i only thought i was going for a mould but they have put them straight on and boy are they aching already mainly the bottom.
anyway the story goes when i was younger my teeth were very happy with there home so they just wouldnt fall out i had them all out bar 1 so you can imagine i was pretty peed off when the ortho said i need 4 more out when i was around 14, i didnt ring them bk because i was so sick off having teeth out but i've paid the price!!
-price £3,448
- brace type damon (all metal) apparently the best for my teeth!
-i had over crowding top was the same at the bottom but had a tooth pulled due to sweets so no to bad down there just missing molar.
-also have an overbite my teeth slant back and cover most of my bottom front teeth.
oh and not forgetting them pesky vampire canines which are wayyyy up.

lots more but i'll stop there and post some pics(or try to) .

Image

ok so that is before having my teeth extracted as you can see lots going on.

Image

this is from the side really hope the ortho can sort that out cos i hate the way it looks.

Image

ok so this is day one of being braced there so bulky cant close my mouth properly but keeping positive..

Image

this is biting down as much as i can as you can see my teeth dont meet at the back which is worrying as i cant eat much else other than soup and weatabix there aching so much too spose thats a good sign no pain no game and all that jazz!!

Image

and last one now this is side view be interesting to watch the progress in this angle.
looks like i have plague for some reason but i dont lol.

ok so thats the pics up sorry if there big.. i really hope they move quick so my lips can close properly he didnt really tell me about what he was doing so i'm not sure what that big thick wire is there for i can only presume its to bring my fangs down and pull my front teeth forward they've been hurting alot not so much the fangs though :(

thanks for looking feel free to comment on my crazy teeth!

:)

Congratulations on taking the plunge... I'm sure you'll see movement soon! I think you have nicely-shaped teeth, so you should have an awesome smile when this is all sorted out!

Keep up the Weetabix... mmm, Weetabix...

That is great that you got braces.
Can't wait to see the improvement.
It will be worth it in the end.

hey guys thanks for the replys and comments, its day 4 now and the constant aching has started to wear off it just hurts to eat and chew on them now. bit worried about a bit off wire poking my cheek already right at the back bottom row just putting abit of wax on when i sleep other than that wire the rubbing isnt too bad.
i turn 21 this month so its abit poo to have braces on my birthday but it'll be over quicker now that i've taken the plunge really wanted to rip them off the other day.

hope you all get great results i'll try to keep posting pics of progress :D

Wow that's pretty long for the wire to be sticking out. I would get it cut. Mine is always cut flush against the bracket and it never really gets long enough to poke my cheek. I guess my teeth havent moved in such a way that has made the wire stick out more, but gosh if mine was ---- long I'd want it cut asap!

Oh and on a related note, if your wire keeps poking out further in the back, you can ask them to bend the end in towards your teeth. That way if the end is bent then the sharp part won't be the part poking you, it will just be a nice rounded part. I used to have the braces that use the elastics to hold the wire on and the wire would poke me so that's what they did at the time, but so far with my self ligating ones I haven't had an issue.
