Couple of Braces :)
Hi everyone!
As a brief introduction, my fiance and I decided to get braced together in hopes that we'll have pretty pearls by our wedding! So this story will be updated interchangably by the both of us.
The Gent's background: ...will update later when he has time, but it's something along the lines of TMJ
The Lady's background:
-retrusive lower, top and bottom crowding, excessive overjet and overbite.
-extraction of top 2 pre-molars, and 1 lower incisor, (and also a baby canine) on February 13, 2009
-ceramic braces in front, metal in the back
-braced since March 11, 2009
-estimated treatment length of 24-36 months
updates and pics coming soon!

Hi SharMarali & Brika,
Thanks for welcoming us to the forums! your guys' stories are so exciting and I really hope things go as smoothly as yours! And by the looks of it, seems like us 3 have the similar problem of having a wonky lower canine that never grew into the right place.
It's only been painful for the first few days, other than that it's all just the adjusting to eating and the constant mental note to go brush your teeth!
It's a funny feeling when your teeth make a "click" sound when you bite down, and all your teeth feel so wobbly!
Like promised, here's the first set of pics, about 6 days into treatment (for the girl's side of the treatment)!

Thanks for the support guys, we'll be cheering you senior bracers on! can't wait until we see your progress through the treatments!!

Well this has been long over due. This is part two of this duo that is embraced.... haha. So I got my braces back on Feburary 4th, 2009 and I'm heading into my 3rd month.
I have TMJ, plus a cross bite. They put some bite stoppers (blue things) so that I wouldn't bite the same way I use to. They also gave me elastics on one side as you will see later, in order to pull my top teeth forward. The pics I post are 2 months in. I've gotten use to the elastics, the pull of them are sometimes annoying but nothing too painful. The Ortho said, the more time i leave in my elastics the faster it will be for them to take out the bite stoppers. I hope it'll lessen the time with the braces in general as well!
My estimated time with the braces will be 2.5 years.
We'll try to keep updating from time to time!
p.s: I know the pics are really big, I'll try to figure out how to make them smaller lol

2nd adjustment
Hi all!
Just got my 2nd adjustment(3rd appointment) yesterday, got a thicker wire on top and kept the original wire on the bottom. The ortho said my bottoms were still moving so i'm not ready for a thicker wire yet! he also said my top canine (the one that's extremely out of place) is moving faster than he expected.
As you might be able to tell, I went for the light blue ligatures and they're pretty spiffy haha. I just couldn't resist eating curry and staining the clear ligs
Thanks for all the support!
