Dating with linguals

Hi guys,

I have a date coming up this Sat, ok.....I haven't told my date I have braces, linguals on top and ceramic on the bottom. I am concerned of his reaction will be, hes really keen on me, but I'm worried he will be turned off when I tell him I have braces. I don't know if he will be upset because I didn't tell him beforehand. Anyone else dating with braces?? Does it affect kissing?

Depends on how long you've had them on for I suppose, but I never had any problems. If I went on a date with somebody I just tended to say early on in the conversation "by the way, if you're wondering why i'm spitting all over you and lisping slightly, its because I have braces on my teeth" to which the reaction would usually be "NO! Really??? But you can't see them! Wow that's fantastic I havent seen braces like that before". Never had problems kissing after the first month or so- you just tend to naturally adapt teh way you do it I think. No complaints whilst I was wearing them anyway!

I've had mine on for 5 months now (wow its gone by so fast!) so I'm quite used to them anyhow. I don't feel embarrassed at all that I have them I'm quite proud because I'm doing it for me. Well I'm glad I got Linguals on top less chance of the boy thinking it would be an issue. I guess if the guy really likes me than the braces wouldn't be an issue. Great to hear you don't have any complaints!

Hi QT,

I'm a guy and I really mean it when I say that I would not be put off by a girl in braces, I actually think they can be really attractive - it shows that the girl takes pride in her appearance and is confident enough to make a big decision to make themselves more content and happy.

I can imagine it must be a bit awkward, but to be honest I'd just forgot you have them, if he asks you or you see him maybe look at your teeth then bring it up! If he is worth anything at all he will be totally cool about it, I would never expect anyone but a total idiot to have a problem with anyone in braces. He should like you for you, not for what you have in your mouth!

Just be yourself and be confident

Those are the two most attractive traits that a girl can have (After braces, hehe).

hehe) were a success! He didn't care about the braces at all!
