Braces-related dreams?

#1 Post by jesspenguin »

Just wondering how many of you have dreams about your braces. In the 15 months since I got braced, my dreams have never centered around my braces nor have my braces even made guest appearances in my dreams. Now that I have a date set to get them off, I've been having dreams 1-2 times a week where I get them removed, only to wake up and be really disappointed.

i had a dream about my braces a week ago, probably call a bracemare. i have been braced for almost 7 weeks now.

i had a dream where i was asleep in my bed then woke up to feel something in my mouth. i spit out what was in my mouth and it was white when i looked at it, it was one of my bottom teeth. at first i was alright, ok, but then in my mouth i started to feel some other stuff which was loose. next thing i know i started spitting out like 5 brackets. so now one tooth came out and now the brackets are coming out. started wondering what did i do to make this happen, did i not brush enough, not enough flossing? all i am thinking is i have to get this fixed before i go to work tonight or else i will look like an idiot in front of my co-workers and the other part of me is thinking, WHY THE HELL DID YOU GET BRACES??? luckily i woke up to find out that it was only a dream and i was so relieved, all teeth and brackets still in tact.

Wow, that sounds really awful. I've heard from friends who had braces that they would have dreams about teeth falling out, but I'm glad I never have. I think that would really set me on edge. Before I had my lone baby tooth extracted (the reason I got braces), I would have dreams that it had come out on its own and everything was fine. Those were the most disappointing dreams to wake up from because I so dreaded having to go to the dentist to have it extracted.
