Retainers galore!

I went to my ortho's office this morning to pick up my Essix retainers. I'm really glad I only have to wear them at night. They aren't uncomfortable but they definitely would get in the way of talking and my bite is kind of weird with them on. I'm pretty much used to my bonded retainers at this point. Sometimes they're annoying when food gets stuck, but overall I'd rather have these in all the time than bulkier retainers.

Have any of you used your Essix retainers as trays for whitening gel? I've read that you can do this, I just wanted to be sure and didn't want to mess anything up.
