dark circles/bags under your eyes
Hi, I have dark circles/bags under my eyes most of the time and I was just wondering if the surgery I'm having to bring my upper jaw forwards will affect them?
Any thoughts or experiences would help.

fromjersey is right to suggest that allergies can disturb the normal development of the face. However, correcting those skeletal problems doesn't guarantee that the dark circles will be eliminated. My case is a perfect example of that. Also, with lifelong allergies chronic allergic rhinosinusitis is likely. So, after your jaw surgery an ENT consult wouldn't hurt.

dark circles can be from underbite/ small airway
Hi Willow-
In response to your question re: dark under eye circles--- I went to one of the most prominent jaw surgeons in the country-
and during my consultation he said that the dark circles under my eyes were due to a restricted airway due to a recessed lower jaw. He estimated that about a year after surgery much of the discoloration under my eyes should heal---it is due to lack of oxygen.
Hope this helps----
