Anyone wearing ceramics with colors?
I noticed more than a few pics on this board and in person who have ceramic brackets with color ligs and power chains.
Bright pinks and purples, so they must be feeling very confident about showing off their gear and soon to be awesome smiles.
I'm wondering if anyone who done this now regrets paying extra for the ceramics?

I have upper ceramics and have yet to get them in colours. Six months after I've gotten them I feel confident and comfortable in my braces. So now I know I could have gone full metal. However, in the early days when I felt like I made a mistake getting them, having them clear made me feel like no one was staring at me and that was a good thing.
Now I have learned one thing: no one is staring.
I still recommend ceramic uppers simply because for the first few days you don't want to look like an errant teenager everytim you look in the mirror.
I don't really see the need to colour them up though. It sort of defeats the purpose.

I have ceramics and clear would be my only choice - I paid extra so they'd be less noticeable(!) Coloured bands have the advanced of not staining so I hear - but then you might as well have gone for metal and saved some money IMO (although some say ceramics are more comfortable, is that true?)

I have self-ligating with ceramics on top "social six" and metal on the rest. Currently am wearing powerchains on all teeth. The first powerchain they gave me was clear and it stained because I drink coffee. I tried light blue and it was OK. Now I have grey/silver and it doesn't stain and is pretty subtle. I may try a different color on my bottoms next time but will probably stick with grey on top. I am happy with ceramics; they are less noticeable then metals even with the powerchain and I believe more attractive. Plus I had full metals as a teen and hated that look; I needed something nicer this time.
Braced for 2 years, 11 months, 2 weeks and 5 days (the 2nd time ‘round)
Hawley on top, Essix on bottom

I do!
For the first six months or so I just got the clear ligatures because at the time I was very self concious about the whole wearing braces while 21 years old and in college thing. But then when I went in for a tightening in January I decided to just say screw it and got BRIGHT TEAL on top and bottom. Oh yes lol. I thought ya know...I'm the one wearing them and I have to be in pain and stuff so why not enjoy the colors? It's kind of cool now because all of my friends are always like "so what color are you going to get?" or when I get back they demand to see the colors. I've noticed that a lot of people never pay attention to my braces to begin with so I don't think it was a big deal. I just smiled and went on. Of course some people may not be into wearing colors on top because they paid extra for the porcelain brackets, but it can be fun .

My insurance discounted ceramics so it didn't really become a huge deal to get them. I'm still using silver colored elastics but I'm thinking of doing colors next time around. Once the rubber bands started, the braces were pretty darned noticeable. Also, ceramics don't QUITE show up in pictures as much which is good.
