The only things I can't eat are very hard toffees. I always manage everything else, it just has to be in bite size pieces that's all.

All I miss is the ability to just bite into something properly. Like to eat an apple without having to cut it up

I really miss Rice Crispy Treats!!! They are one of my favorite and I have only been able to manage about 1 a year since I was braced. (I have to wait till my teeth do not hurt at all for many days, which is rare, before I attempt it).
I also miss corn on the cob. I had it figured out last summer, but my teeth have shifted and I can't do it again (even when they aren't too sore). Just have to cut it off.
And lately I am missing my cold cereal. Why do they all have to be so crunchie? And if you let them get soggie, why do they taste so gross?

HEHE. I don't miss anything in paticular. I eat all the food I can, just slower than I would without braces. HOWEVER, I do miss being able to eat something without wondering if I have a giant piece of food.

That funny someone mentioned rice krispies, I ate one for probably the first time in a long time yesterday, it wasn't hard to eat, just make sure it's room temperature, because it breaks apart easier.

Oh, I thought of one. I miss sucking on hard candies. I don't do that anymore in fear that I will break a bracket.

** Dairy Queen crunch cote ice cream cone
** Chips - Doritos, Fritos
** Hard shell tacos...tried a soft shell for the first time the other day - not so bad! :)

It feels like forever...and it's only been a month and a half!

Have you tried the cereal Rice Krispies Treats? It's rice krispy bars broken up into small pieces. My favorite cereal and I can eat them with my braces! :D It's not found in all stores but you can locate stores via their website.

I really miss butter pecan ice cream and crunchy tacos! I've only had braces almost 3 weeks and 18 months is my sentence.

I love to eat in general and to be honest I still eat whatever but what I really miss is the just pigging out part you know just sitting down and taking big bites and chew chew chew. Now I try to bite very carefully and cannot scarf down food as fast as I would like. I can't wait to eat like normal!

Also to avoid the pain of flossing and using a proxy brush, I sometimes don't eat at all! I know so lazy. I'm losing tons of weight and have no energy, too much work to cook and eat.
