I ate out last night, woo hoo
I had a horrible day, the pain was so bad and found it hard dealing with the kids etc.. so my neighbor called and we went out for omelette. I just popped it on my tongue and threw it back my throat, no biting for me my teeth are just too sensitive and plus I can't even put my back upper and lower teeth together!!! All in all it was a success, I didn't even have omelette sticking out of my wires

Yay for eating out! I think you've over come one of the biggest hurdles of new braces there, trying to eat in public without making a complete idiot of yourself

Lower Braces = 22nd June 09 - 2nd Sept 10 (14 months, 1 week & 4 days)
Upper braces = 10th August 09 - 2nd Sept 10 (12 months, 3 weeks & 2 days)

Congratulations on your new tooth jewellery Emms
You got braces one day before me and we both have In-Ovation C on the upper arch
Your braces look great, the clear ones are barely noticable and your lower teeth are similar to mine - the same crowding issues. Hope your extractions are healing nicely and food is not getting stuck there anymore. Everyone says the first few days are the worst, after that it gets easier. What is your "sentence"?

Braced with In-Ovation C for 12-18 months
Hi everyone, I think me and my braces have become good friends, I'm now so comfortable with them on I don't even feel them to be honest, it is great. They're on a week tomorrow and that week just flew by. Only another 7 weeks to my first adjustment
PrettyWoman - Hi there
You, me and Trish all got our braces in the same week, we definitely can relate to eachother!! My sentence is 2 years, with the possibility of getting the tops ones off before the lowers, will definitely need the 2 years on the lowers I was told. Will be getting the elastics also down the line.
I love this site, it is so great to be able to chat with others who are going through the exact same process

As the time goes on my pictures get bigger..lol. Anyhow I think there has been movement!!! My tooth that has spent years hiding behind my front tooth has come out to say hello

Bye for now

Hi Emms...
looking good. I do think there is some movement of your tooth that was hidden. congrats! I had to run to the ortho this morning for a pokey wire. they were so apologetic, like it was their fault or something. I am anxious for my first adjustment...too many things to do between now and then....halloween, thanksgiving, christmas shopping........crazed!
hope your mouth is feeling well!
congrats on your movements

Now I never had the whitest teeth but are any of you finding that your teeth are getting discolored? Under my brackets are nice and white but above them up to the gumline I just see yellow and I cannot get rid of it. I use my sonicare at least 5 times a day, after I eat anything, I also have a waterpik and I brush with a regular brush also. I do use whitening toothpaste. Ahhhh what am I doing wrong? This is grossing me out
Thanks (yellow teeth Emms!!!)

I thought the same after a few days, but i think its because the braces were so clear & white that they made my teeth look discoloured, not that they actually were...

Hi Emms! Congrats on your braces, and thanks for posting on my thread, my teeth do feel much better now! I've also been noticing that my teeth look yellow. I read somewhere on this site that the clear "vitamin gel" they spread all over your teeth before gluing on the brackets gradually turns yellow. And, like you, I love to drink tea, so it might be possible that the tea is making the "vitamin gel" stain faster. When I have my first adjustment, I will ask them about it, I'll let you know what they say

20 months in braces
