Last stage in braces!!!!!!!

I am in setteling elastics now. Settteling elastics are briging my molars down so they touch. The setteling elastics have done as much as they can do. So my Ortho said what he is going to do is cute some of the wire off (I'm still confused on what he was talking about) and this will instantly bring down my molars. So I'm still on for getting my braces off in December. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had peices of their wire off during braces treatment? I'm not exactly sure how this will bring my molars down. I'm just curious.

Hi,
I'm in the last stage now (one more appointment and then off they come in December- yey!).
Last week at my adjustment my ortho cut some wire off too. So now although I have brackets on the back molars, there's no wire attaching them to anything.

I didn't think to ask what the purpose of this was as I was too excited about getting a debrace date. So I'm not really much help other than to let you know you're not the only one!

Hi changes09.

My ortho cut my wires too. My top arch has only the archwire going from canine to canine; all other teeth are still bracketed. (The bottom arch is still wired and bracketed as well.) My ortho mentioned that he wanted my upper teeth to come down on their own, so I didn't ask more questions. Also, I suspect that the now less-restricted upper archwire has allowed my upper front six teeth to be more responsive to the archwire. Indeed, I have noticed changes.

I also suspect that I'm roughly near the end of my treatment, but I still have some detailing to go.

congratz changes09 and neptune!

I'm in the final stages as well (provided things go as planned) I should be getting mine off january 18th!!!!! I'm pryaying my jaw and everyting will continue to co operate as I've had some complications from my jaw surgery but I think its okay now:)

I haven't got my wires cut off however there is still time cause I have one more adjustment to attend to. I know though I have been rid of the power chain on my upper arch which excites me and I still have elastics but I'm only wearing then for 12 hours a day now.

My origianl estimate was supposed to be getting the braces off in november but that it isn't to far offf compared to what I've heard from others on here
