Thank You!
I registered to be able to thank everyone on this board for sharing their experience and posting pictures. I had BSSO yesterday and knowing what other people had described helped me tremendeously to get through it, and made me feel much calmer abouth everything (If I sound like I am rambling is because I am a little groggy still). When I looked at myself in the mirror I didn't have such a shock since I had looked at the pictures on this board. The lists on what to buy after surgery is great; I used it to go shopping and it has helped already! Thanks everyone!

Thank you all for your replies! I got the shakes too and not until after they were over, was when I could really focus and act sort of normal. I think that's the body getting rid of the anesthetic. My husband was worried because I was in lala land for quite some time, but all the medicine I got for nausea did not help with the process of waking up!
I switched to plain ibuprofen and the dizziness and nausea are better. I was gagging and coughing so hard that I was feeling strain in my jaw which worried me.
One thing is weird, I have no lip numbness at all, I can drink out of a cup like normal. OS said she had no explanation for this!
Something else I have noticed is real pain in my front lower teeth; I guess they have never ever had anything (such as top teeth) resting on them before and they have to get used to this!

Prescription pain medication can make you dizzy, so switching to Ibuprofen will help.
I was pretty weak the first week and somewhat better the second week. Make sure you get enough calories from your diet.
Wishing you a quick recovery!
