I'm no expert but 7 teeth?!

Yeah I have to have 7 teeth taken out at once.

Has anyone had plenty of teeth taken out in one go? If so how was it?

I would guess it depends on which teeth. If it's 3 or 4 teeth plus wisdom teeth, that's not completely unusual. I have had several friends who had four premolars and their wisdom teeth removed. Now seven teeth aside from wisdoms... I can't really say. That would seem like a lot to me.

you should get a second and third opinion before having 7 teeth extracted.

That does seem like alot. I have had all 4 wisdom teeth removed (not for braces) and I also had to have one of my molars removed. So thats five. Like the previous members have said, if 7 is including the wisdom teeth then it might not be so bad but I agree that you should have at least 2 more opinions before you consider having them removed. I had 8 teeth removed at once. Four were wisdom, plus two that were near the wisdom teeth that were "extra" teeth (no idea why I had them) plus two molars that were not repairable. So really only two teeth that I was using, plus the six impacted ones. Unfortunately my dentist had written in the referral to leave two of the wisdom teeth to take the place of the molars I would be losing but the surgeon advised "it doesn't work like that" and removed them anyway.

Should have gotten another opinion...

I had 8 removed!
4 wisdoms all at once about 2 years ago, then 4 premolars (two one week and two the next) about a year ago.
How crowded are your teeth?

They will be removing 2 wisdoms, 4 premolars, and one baby thats still retained. And a possible surgery depending if the impacted canine decides to erupt on its own or not.

Yeah my bottom teeth are slightly crowded and i have an overjet, which makes my face protrude slightly. my lips are full, but thats mainly to do with inheritance so lucky there :p
I've had 3 opinions, they are all roughly the same, except one that said take out all wisdoms, and the other 5 also...but the wisdoms on my right are perfectly fine, the one on the left is one that is growing horizontally so could become a risk when im older. Kind of glad food always gets caught there

I've had the opinions etc so I don't need to go there again, I was just shocked when they said 7 so wondered if anyone else had the same experience, because it seems like an awful lot of pain...gaps i can easily put up with, my patience is good when it comes to the waiting game

Hearing past stories of 8 being taken out at once has definitely reassured me, but what happened when they took it out? did you stay there all day or was it ok to return home?

And has anyone heard of dollicofacial/dallicofacial...you know what I can't spell it I just heard it and i can't find a definition anywhere

I had seven teeth taken out in one go as well, and I definitely don't regret it at all. Four of mine were wisdom teeth and then there were two from the top and one from the bottom that were taken out. This all happened about five months ago and I can see so much improvement because my teeth aren't so crowded and are now free to roam! More or less..

Obviously its a totally different tooth situation for you, but as far as the procedure itself goes I would suggest doing it under general anesthesia if possible. I did it under general and it was a really good choice for that many teeth and made the procedure basically painless. It only took half an hour for them to do all seven teeth, and they just required that someone was present to take me home after they were done. It was really simple and I had no complications, thankfully. Make sure you take all of the medication and antibiotics and take good care of yourself afterwards.

It's your choice in the end, and it would be good to check out other opinions if you're unsure about your decision, but in terms of the procedure itself this extraction survivor didn't find it bad at all.

I had 4 wisdom teeth that were removed that were all impacted. I also got 4 extractions for braces. So I have a total of 8 teeth removed.

I usually recommend patients have all required teeth taken out at once. There isn't that much discomfort associated with teeth that need to be removed for orthodontic purposes. Most people find that it is easier psychologically to have to go through with extractions on one day rather than several. Furthermore, removal of wisdom teeth is often done under IV, whereby making perfect sense to have everything out while you're out.

Dolichofacial refers to the "steepness" of the lower border of the jaw, whereby the lower jaw is usually more rotated down and back. The opposite is brachyfacial and the mid-point is referred to as mesofacial.

I've had a total of 7 teeth removed. 3 wisdom in my 20's and 4 bicuspids at the start of ortho treatment. (My total would have probably been 8, but my 4th wisdom tooth never developed.) If I had to do it over again, I would have preferred to have them all out at once under general. Getting teeth removed and dealing with gaps is no fun. Mind as well do it and get it over with all at once.

I'm still in the consultation phase, but I was told I need 3-4 extractions. Talk about scary! 7 doesn't seem too bad, if it is including wisdom teeth

yep i had 4 wisdoms and four other teeth out in one go about a month ago. was a bit rough the first couple of days but settled down ok. ( i was taking a lot of painkillers). oh and looking like a chipmonk for a week is different too! makes for some funny pics.
