Seven Year Itch
Thanks for all the replies. How interesting that many of you had the same craziness around the 10-12 month mark. 10-12 months must the limit for voluntary human torture.
I'm at 11 months and I feel a little better. I finally had the poking wire clipped after having it gobbed with wax over the entire Christmas/New Year's holidays.
I had my teeth cleaned yesterday so I'm also getting a second wind in hygiene as well. On one of my crazy days I ordered a flossfish to help me floss, even though I was scheduled to finish treatment next month. Unfortunately, I read the reviews here on Archwired AFTER I bought it impulsively. Too bad. At least it was only a $5.80 expenditure for 10 of them.
So onward we go, bravehearted travelling companions. May your roads be short and painless.

Yep, I am just about at my limit of frustration too.
I had 2 weeks off the rubber bands when I went away on holiday and now I have to get used to them all over again! This is my fault but I just want to be able to eat and then not have to worry about what is hanging out of my teeth afterwards.
My braces could be off by May which doesn't sound like long to people who are not wearing braces.. but it's a lifetime for me!

I hear you. I have had mine for less than a week, and I should own stock in dental wax. It's such a labor intensive process, and quite weird when I think about how I am paying someone also $5000 to torture me for 2-years, all while I praticipate in the misery with constant brushing, rinsing, clipping, flossing, drying, spitting and the occasional drooling.
I want to hug every kid I see in braces now, because they are brave little hardasses.
