Debracing w/Gap

#1 Post by tyeomans »

I have a tiny gap between my top left canine and incisor (probably about less than 1 mm wide). I get my braces off Monday, Feb. 22. Should I go see my ortho Friday and let him know about it?

I thought this forum was to be supportive and help others. Will someone please help? I need to know because I have to travel to see the ortho. He isn't in my town.

People tend to comment on what they know...I'm sure you'd rather wait for someone with good advice to comment, then a bunch of "I don't knows" and bad advice, right?

Can you call the office? Maybe that would give you some indication of whether it's something they'd want to see you about?

If it were me I would want the gap closed before debracing, If you had some pics I think you would get more comments.

Definitely call!!! I asked my ortho about a gap and he told me basically that it was my imagination and it set me back in treatment two months!

If you feel it should be closed discuss it. Although they may be able to do that with the retainer.
