Benefit of getting a good invisalgin provider?

#1 Post by Ryo2 »

I notice ther price difference for my full invisalgn is $1500 cheaper if i just go to my regular dentist vs a Invisalgn premier provider. What is the benefit of going to a premier provider anyway if the computer does all the production of the invisalgn?

Actually, the robots make the aligners but the ortho or dentist tells them what needs doing and tweaks the plan. They then get the clincheck and other information and approve it.
Also, more experienced providers generally understand the limitations of invisalign better and know ways to get around those limitations. They can set teeth where they specifically require attachments where they might otherwise not be put for example.
I saw a very inexperienced provider at one of my consultations. He told me I could use Invisalign Express for my top teeth (less than ten aligners) So far I have had 18 and they still need tweaking a little more. My bottoms have had 34 aligners!
If you have a very simple problem maybe it is worth going with the lower cost provider but otherwise I would choose experience every time.
Good Luck

I agree with, myhollywoodsmile.

it does make a big difference. I went to my dentist and right away he told me that i couldn't have invisalign--then I went to a ortho who specializes in it and right away he told me no problem. He had done many cases before mine and showed me photos, and he wrote down special notes for the 'aligner makers' of what he wanted done to my teeth and how he wanted them to look in the end.
What I realized was that it is on his direction that they make the aligners. I right away felt so relieved because I knew I was spending a lot of money and my teeth were in good hands.

An orthodontist works with tooth movement full time and can also use other treatments besides Invisalign if needed. I had my deep bite problem corrected with regular braces by a dentist 20 years ago and have ended up with an Invisalign re-treatment with that has involved 31 trays so far and will likely extend beyond 18 months. My vote is definitely with someone that has experience and more training than a weekend class or two.
