March 2010 surgery buddies
I am scheduled to do Lefort I BSSO on March 17. I am looking forward to it.. I was told the Ops is about 5-6hrs long. Good luck to all and happy recovery!! Salud
I'm joining this buddy thread during one of the most depressing moods of my life.
I was supposed to have bimax surgery today, but my surgeon canceled it yesterday because I got faryngitis over the weekend, and he didn't want to operate on me while my body is already trying to fight a bacterial infection. So my surgery was rescheduled for March 10.
I was so close to the big day, and it vanished before my eyes when my ticker counter was at -1. So close yet so far!
I'm having a real hard time dealing with this postponement. I was ready on all respects: mentally, emotionally, logistically, financially, and spiritually. I thought I was also physically ready, but I got the damned faryngitis.
So I'm starting back again from -35. It feels like a mountain to climb. I hope it goes by fast and that this time I don't get sick at the last minute.
By the way I'm having bimaxillary surgery: 1-piece Lefort 1 in the upper jaw (3 mm forward and 3 mm down) with bone graft, and BSSO in the lower jaw (7 mm forward). I have a severe overbite and overjet, with moderate sleep apnea.

I'm having bottom and top jaw surgery. The bottom will be moved to the left and back and the top will be moved up. I don't know the exact terms such as a lefort or genioplasty or whatever it is, but I am excited to get this done. I have a lot of confidence in my oral surgeon, he is distinguished and his credentials look great. I was told he is the best in the city, so it was a no brainer.
and you?

Hey Hadoudi,
tomorrow is the big day for us! How are you doing? How are your nerves holding?
I'm feeling rather well and I'm crossing my fingers that nothing happens during these last 24 hours to make me miss another surgery date.
I hope everything goes well with our surgeries. Good luck to us.
