Today was my adjustment, not really much to tell, i had a tighter power chain put on the top to close the gaps and a thicker wire on the bottom again.
He said next time i'll be getting some brackets adjusted on the top 4 so that my teeth will move differently.

& it seems that they've lost my original moulds too...

Oh well, next adjustment in 6 weeks

I'm hoping i can get them off before i start going to the musicl festivals in the summer, cos i dont like the idea of not being able to properly brush my teeth with braces on!

But only 21 days until my next adjustment

It's just gone 9 months since i got my uppers, my how time flies!

My next adjustment is in 4 days, time to rearrange some brackets! lets hope we're close to the end of treatment now...i'm hoping for another 2 months but who knows. I cant really complain as i'm getting them off sooner than i though i think..

my 7th adjustment was probably the most painful to date! He took off 2 of the upper brackets and rearranged them at an angle, it was so horrid to hear them crunch as he took them off!

Anyway, he just did that and then reapplied the power chain, tight much?

and the lowers were just tightened

and then he went "are you still talking to me then after all that discomfort?" i was like "yes, just about

" so he went "well, i think we're near the end, how does appointment after the next sound for getting them off? I was like "amazing!" and did a little happy dance!

12 weeks left, they'll be off before i head off on my holidays and before i start my 2nd year at university, i am sooooo happy!!!

owwwwwwwww back to the days where even biting toast is pain!

my dad made steaks last night, and i thought i'd be ok to eat it, what a big mistake!!! i have never been in so much pain eating, in the end i gave it to my sister just so that i didnt feel like dying, i was starrrrrved though!

But being silly, and i knew i was going out last night, in refused to take pain killers, and its the same today, some how alcohol beats out the idea of pain relief

My 14 year old sister got her braces today [and something that is going to widen her jaw at the top of her mouth], and she hates them...

She's a pretty moody Susan in the first place, but she's just turned worse since she got them on, i keep telling her that in a few days she won't feel anything anymore, but she just screams that i don't know what its like...i'm like *ahem* who else has got braces in this house?

One of her brackets have already fell off too (we have different ortho's, and i know hers isnt as good as mine, she's less precise]
She refuses to take pain killers as well and is just lying in bed feeling sorry for herself.

Soo i'm leaving her to it, she refuses to believe i have been in her kind of pain and is just screaming at me...anyone have any ideas of what i can do?!?!

Jealousy has officially set in! Aw! We'll miss you on the board! Congrats on the removal date!

I have a younger sister who has braces too! I think my pain tolerance is a little higher than hers because she was also very moody when she got both her upper and lower row done. She even shed a few tears because of the pain!

I would say help her throw a pity party but that won't do either of you much good. Instead, maybe you should take her out for ice cream or watch a funny movie together or both. Maybe she's feeling like her well being is being thwarted because of all of that metal she just got thrown in her mouth.

Not to mention...14 yr olds are naturally moody. The braces put icing on the cake. She may not want to talk about her teeth but I'm sure she'd enjoy doing something fun with her big sis

. That should take her mind off of it momentarily. Ooooh! And take pictures together of your twin grins! Not to post them on AW but just to show her there's life beyond braces...

I'm on like a countdown till they come off, i cannot wait! I dont even like popcorn but i will just go buy some because i can

She started to take it better, then her teeth moved in a weird way and actually looked worse, but she seems to be used to them now [or at least isnt moaning about them so much anymore]
But another one of her brackets fell off again last night! Her ortho just doesnt seem as intense as mine, i think mine is just well practiced and knows what he's doing abit more since i have never ever had a bracket fall off.

But nothing new on the teeth front, things seem to be moving slightly as the last gap that we're waiting for is doing its job...just being super slow about it!

I'm actually quite weirded out that i'm gonna get my braces off, i mean when they take the wire off its like theres nothing holding my teeth in and i cant wait for him to put a new wire in, so god knows what i'll be like when the wires not going back in

But i've come home for a while [since i moved away and that] and today i met up with one of my old best friends and he was like "when did you get braces?" i was like "omg, like nearly year ago!" its so weird to think that some people i used to know have never seen me in them! And some people have only known me in them!

Well today is my 20th birthday, my first and last birthday in Braces, the best birthday present i could have had was my grandma telling me how beautiful my teeth are now...

My waiter at my birthday meal also had braces, i couldnt help but stare abit at his teeth haha

I do spend all my time looking at peoples teeth now, i'll watch tv and be like "he has an underbite" hahaha, i think i'm teeth obsessed now!

Not long till my next adjustment, i hope he says they're deffo coming off at the one after this!

Today is 1 year since i got my lowers!!

Amazing how time flies! I almost didnt realise it was today, its so exciting!

Anyone hesitating about braces, go do it, it goes sooo fast and you will never regret it! I am so happy with my progress and cant believe my journey is nearly over. Or how much my life has changed in this past year. Braces have given me so much more confidence too. I am a new girl and cant wait to be an even more confident woman once they're off, to smile even more proudly!

my next adjustment in 6 days, the day after i move into my new house [even though i am staying with my parents now, i have to move out of my old flat and into my new one, although i wont be living there till august time i think] life is exciting at the moment

And for those wondering, i brought my 20th year in in style, fully drunk and in a beautiful dress, new hair cut, painful shoes and waking up feeling like death, best birthday ever
