Had powerchain a week ago and still no change - normal?

#1 Post by camdog »

I know I sound impatient but I had a powerchain on for teh first tiem last week and initially my teeth were sore as expected but now they just feel normal again and I have'nt seen any movement.

It was suppose to help close my gaps but has not done so as yet. Should I be concerned or just wait a little longer?

Many thanks.

I wouldn't be concerned, your ortho will figure out a way to close the gaps. I have gaps on my bottom that we have been trying to close for a couple of months now. We started with a clear powerchain, then moved to a silver powerchain, which is supposed to be stronger than clear. Then we tried a closed loop powerchain (black) - that didn't do anything either. Now I have a silver closed loop powerchain and it's also not budging the teeth. My ortho is going to try using a closing loop next adjustment. I guess some teeth are just really stubborn, but my ortho says they will eventually close.

I have had power chains on for the last year! My extraction gaps were closing slowly until I started wearing elastics! After that, the gaps were closed in about 2 months.
2 Years 4 months 3 weeks and 4 days in full metal braces!
