Brace Day tomorrow!
After almost 20 years I have finally decided to move forward with my surgery. Brace day tomorrow! I am excited but also nervous as I know once I get them on there is no looking back!

Time in Braces
Curious how many others wore braces more than once and for how long.

I knew back in highschool that the only way to fix my jaw/bite was through surgery but I didn't want braces. Oh how I wish I wasn't so vein back in the day!
But I was and now here I am getting braces at 14.
Glad to see you are on the other side now. It is good to know there will finally be an end to all of this one of these days!
So are you happy you did everything? Was it worth the wait??

Yes, well pleased with the results it was how i wanted it or turn out the way i pictured in my head. My ortho/surgeon stopped using computer predictions because it doesn't necessary mean that is what you end up with rather an idea of what changes you can expect. Plus there are various factors that can affect your overall appearance. I was informed how my face may alter and was fine about it.
Having a 13mm underbite i was going to accept anything just to get a proper bite. My surgery was after my 31st birthday and therefore 16 years since starting the orthodontic treatment that made me less anxious and more impatient so going into the surgery i wasn't as scared.
It's alright for people to be worried i tried calming myself by breathing slowly. Anyway, the anesthesia will knock you out in an instant, when you feel the jab and be told to count to 10 will have already been asleep by 2.
I'll jot down my mental notes and make a brief summary of my experience as there's too much to delve into and make a separate thread later.
For the members beginning or going to consider orthognathic surgery and need to ask questions, they are bound to be covered extensively by searching the forums. So i will give one to those out there reading to think about which was from my mum before the op:
