Gingivectomy?

#1 Post by noelani »

I'm half way through my invisalign treatment (15 U/L out of 30 U/L) and starting to see the crowding in my front lower teeth improve.

Last week, I was looking at some pictures of a trip I took and saw a picture of me with a wide smile. This was also the same smile I made during my initial invisalign consultation when pictures were taken. My upper front teeth looked gummy and I instantly thought back something my othro said during that initial consultation. She asked if I would consider a gingivectomy. At the time I said "No", but as I see how much better my teeth look with each tray, I can't stop thinking about it.

Have any of you gotten a gingivectomy to improve your smile? Your insights are appreciated :D

This is often the 'icing on the cake' that can make a good case GREAT!

I have many pts who get 'gum lifts' after ortho.
