Spacers hell
Let me tell you, this is the worst pain I had to endure. It didnt hurt on the first day, just itched and was sensitive, but the next day it was hell. I am 25 year old grown up man, but I'll tell you that this really ruins my entire day.
It's Tuesday right now and I am still in a lot of pain and discomfort. Not as much pain as Saturday or Sunday, but still quite a bit. It makes my entire day groggy and I honestly dont feel myself. I've never had a cavity of any other type of tooth ache and when I removed my wisdom teeth two weeks ago I was able to eat a 16oz steak the next day, but this I cannot endure.

Spacers are the absolute worst thing about braces IMHO. Spacer pain is a pain in a category all it's own--nothing compares. I had spacers for two weeks and they hurt for the entire first week--so much so that I couldn't chew anything. By week two the pain was much better; I could chew, but not anything super crunchy. Hang in there; they will be out very soon. In the meantime, Advil is your friend. Take as needed, but make sure you take 2 about a half and hour before eating. It takes the edge off.

I have really crowded teeth so the spacers were horrible. I had to have them for one week and had pain the whole time. I could simply rest my teeth together and get a piercing jolt. The night before they came out I was contemplating calling early in the morning and asking them to remove them as their first appointment...really couldn't stand it another minute. I lived through it with many advil and lots of wine. Don't try to bare the pain, take medicine. I feel for ya! On the bright side...its just a short time (usually a week, sometimes two). Hang in there,
Yep, I hear ya. I remember when my ortho put them in she said 'I strongly suggest you take two strong pain killers now, and another 2 tonight'. I was like nah they dont hurt at all... 3 hours later it hit me. It took about 5 days to settle down. Dont try and tough it out without drugs, no human could cope with that kind of pain! But rest assured it will settle down and eventually disappear.
I know what you mean. I got my spacers in 3 days ago and they are absolutely killing me. I've given up eating altogether today. I've decided starvation is better than the pain I get by chewing. The first day they were ok, but the second was the worst for me as I felt like my teeth were being crushed at the front. It definately does ruin your entire day. My week usually flies by, but this week is passing sooooo slowly. Hang in there. This is supposedly the worst part!

I agree ... hang on in there, it does get easier.
I'm braced for the second time, and I had spacers galore the first. I was DREADING that bit of the treatment second time around, but I am lucky enough not to need them this time (as my bite is good, its just the front teeth that have moved into their original position).

Yea I dreaded to eat anything solid. I mostly drank protein shakes and ate greek yogurts.
On day 6 most of the teeth were hurting much less, but the upper left mollar was still killing me so I couldn't really chew anyway.
I just got the spacers off and got braced. The braces are nothing in comparison to the spacers.

I hate to tell you but it doesn't get any better until they take them out. I had them in for a week. Let me tell you when they pull those puppies out it's like the biggest relief you will ever feel in your life haha.
