Teeth Analysis

#1 Post by RHOyally Braced »

Now that I've started this journey with braces, I've noticed that I stare and analyze peoples' teeth more critically than I've done when I wasn't about to get braces. Does any one else do this? What are your thoughts?

Through my analysis, I've felt better that I've decided to take the plunge cuz I don't want my teeth to look like some people's I've seen.

I have always looked at people's teeth- probably because I hated mine and was looking to see if anyone had bad teeth like me. Ever since I decided to get braces and now that they are on I am always looking to see if other people have them too.

So yes, I agree with you :)

Yes, I also do that. I even look at the teeth of people on TV shows and commericals.

I think I'm obssessed. I always wonder why so many famous people don't have their teeth fixed.

Same here - I'm constantly looking to see if people have braces or should get some. 8)

The odd thing is you'd think for people with nearly unlimited incomes, they'd do something about a feature as visible and prominent as their smile, plus when your work is dependent partially on your looks, it would make sense to take care of your body, which includes your teeth....

When cost is not an issue, I don't understand people who would forego fixing their teeth. Bottom line.

I haven't gotten my braces yet, but when I worked in optical, I would always look at people's glasses. I still look at people's glasses.

I never noticed other people's teeth until I got braces. Now I look at everyone's teeth, in person, on tv, in magazines...

A downside of having braces is that I have noticed that some people feel a bit insecure about their own teeth when they are around me - as though they think I must be judging them.

People seem to touch their teeth a lot and hide their smiles slightly. Two of my friends have had their teeth whitened - I think it is because they have become more aware of their own teeth as I have brought so much attention to the whole subject of teeth.

To be honest, when I get debraced in a couple of weeks' time I am kind of looking forward to just forgetting about teeth for a while. I am sick of this oral fixation! Time to start obsessing about something else for a change...
