I've had my wisdom teeth pulled out so I was able to manoeuvre the pills back into my mouth (with a finger) and through the hole that I have now. In the beginning I parted all the pills into two; it could take up to an hour for me to get the pills down.. Wasn't very nice.

I crushed mine inside a ziploc bag with a hammer and then mixed it in an Ensure shooter.

You're probably going to want to mix it with juice instead of water.

Thank you VikingGirl, bb and Audra.

I'm at the hospital now, awaiting my surgery tomorrow morning (last July buddy...).

Just got back from the hospital like 40 minutes ago, I'm on the other side now.

I was really nervous in the waiting room and got good news from my surgeon telling me that the surgery wasn't as bad as he thought and would be a easy procedure.

Everything went fast, wheeled off they gave me drugs to calm me down and pretty soon after that in the OR I was out and woke up pretty easily in recovery, had some guy moaning in pain near me which made me nervous. I was happy when they wheeled him off.

But the surgery went great from what he told my parents, said I had a very strong jaw that should heal very nicely, I had no pain at all during my stay at the hospital and didn't need to ask them to give me pain meds, IDK if they were giving me some in the IV though.

The thing that was annoying is breathing, mucus in my throat and my nose has blood in it, was bleeding pretty badly in the recovery room.

I also had trouble sleeping at the hospital, they said I could of stayed another night but I rather be home and comfortable. They didn't let me get off the bed until like 10 AM today. I had to pee in this bottle thing and I was pretty uncomfortable just laying there for so long and just allowed water and no other drinks. Wasn't many choices for TV either so I was pretty bored.

Got my first post op meeting Tuesday. The medicine they gave me is nasty tasting and will be tough to take in, its the worse part so far.

My jaw completely wired shut, only liquids, only had water yesterday, some apple juice today and some broathe .

Congrats to the July crew.

I had my surgery on Friday at Boston Medical Center. Mine was double jaw...and I ended up having some pretty serious movement. They moved my upper jaw forward 7-8 mm, up 4-5 mm, and my lower jaw was rotated backwards about 2-3 mm. I had some serious misalignment.

I feel like today was the hump. I had my post op meeting this morning and everything looks good, with the swelling peaking yesterday I think. Last night I started to feel a lot better; the first few days were pretty rough even though I'm not completely wired shut.

I definitely still have substantial numbness on my left side but my upper jaw and right side feel good. My appearance changes have been dramatic and are the source of most of my anxiety right now. I just hope everything settles nicely.

Hope everyone else is recovering nicely as well!

Congratulations to all of you on the other side! I'm glad to hear you are all doing well.

I'm going to my second post-op appointment with my surgeon tomorrow as well as my first ortho appointment. I hope they can do something about this rash... it's everywhere! Including my face :(

Hooks installed, supplies bought ... it still hasn't completely hit me yet (five more days!). Congrats to those on the other side and good luck, Kirish. :) I'm looking forward to not having to worry about preparing for and going through surgery and just focus on things post-op!

ztm134 that IS some serious work you've got there! Good luck on the recovery :D

I'm also having my second post op tomorrow - I should get the wafer and bands off then. Will be celebrating with a delicious icecream with a friend!

I'm surprised, I have no pain or numbness at all. My face is swollen and have a lot of pressure, but no pain. I can feel everything that touches my face, lips whatever.

Day 2 post op and my nose is starting to clear up which is good, because my tong was blocking out my air when I tried sleeping waking me up. Its tough though, I feel weak, I get out of breath just going to the bath room. Its annoying cause I can't talk and trying to tell people what I need is tough, so I have been typing it on my cell phone and showing them.

Pulled a lot of blood out of my nose yesterday.

Hi all,

My second post-op appts went well. Both surgeon and ortho are very pleased. I still have numbness but the new tingles appear everyday so I'm not worried at all. I've also completed my 13 hour drive to my new home so all my major stressors are now over :D My tongue is still a little brown but my rash has gone away. Beyond those things, I feel pretty good and relatively normal. If only the soft food diet were over... I went to a ball game yesterday and got so hungry (extra innings!) that I had some french fries diped in cheese dip. I made it work because the fries were large and with the cheese, not very crispy. Not the best meal I could have eaten but the best I could do under the circumstances!

I hope everyone is doing well!
J
