So I am on day one of my invisalign treatment. So far not bad. Just a question or two for the invisalign "vets" in the group!
My upper tray has one area back by my last left molar that doesnt quite feel right. When I probe the area with my toungue, speak, or swallow, my tounge feels like it is rubbing the edge of the aligner. It almost feels as though there is a space between the aligner and the edge of the tooth. The opposite side does not have this feeling what so ever. Did anyone else have any experiences like this with the first tray?? I brought this to my ortho's attention and he said it appears to be fitting as expected. He stated it may take a day or so for it to fit properly back there, but I am a little doubtful since everywhere else fits great. I can tell I am going to have a sore spot on my tongue eventually from the rubbing. Should I consider trying to smooth the tray out? It just feels like there is a gap more than a rough edge. Hard to describe.
Thank you in advance for any and all replies to this!

Hi, I am half way through tray #2, and some areas of my trays fit right up against my gum line (especially in the middle of the aligners), and others areas feel like they have a kind of 'lip' or gap as you describe. Since my first one felt like this when the ortho put it on first time and was happy with it, I'm assuming this is just how it is.

Treatment started: 13th July 2010.

Just a quick update to this problem. This morning I can still feel a "gap" between the aligner and gum, but it's not as bothersome as yesterday. I don't know if its from my teeth moving overnight, or becuase my mouth is becoming accustomed to the change. Probably a little of both. Anyhow, thanks again for the replies!! On with day #2!
