I got 2 teeth extracted today in preparation for the start of my treatment.
I had asked for a copy of my clincheck to have at home to check back at home.
Having watched it quite a few times, I have noticed that the top teeth are moving the wrong way!
My bottom midline is central, and my top midline is slightly to the left. But they have got my top midline moving FURTHER left instead of right to match the bottom.
I did question the midline at my clincheck appointment but my dentist said it looked good to him and explained it to me in a waythat made sense... Atthe time.
At my appointment today he informed methat my trays have arrived ready for my fitting appointment on Thursday, but I am SO worried right now about this midline issue!!
If they have gt it wrong will they remake the trays?????
My appointment on Thursday is to start the BOTTOM tray only and I will receive the top tray after 14 weeks.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE someone help I'm so worried.
My clincheck can be viewed at http://all-thanks-to-baby.blogspot.com
Nitemare please help

Hi there,
I had a look at your blog and it is really hard to tell from your clincheck how your teeth will look in your mouth with the midline off. I would say though if you are panicking I would ring your ortho. If it made sense to you at the time it might just do so again!
I was intrigued by one thing though. Is there any particular reason why your teeth were removed rather than just pushing them into place? Sorry if I missed the answer on your blog. I only ask because my ortho told me that teeth are only very rarely removed these days for orthodontics, so I wondered why yours were.
Anyway, I hope you get the answer from your ortho. You clincheck looks good to me. If it's any consolation my midlines will be off at the end of treatment too. I was told this at the start and I'm ok with it, I don't think it's something that people notice too much unless you are Tom Cruise or similar!

twinkles,
make absolutely sure you are looking at the clincheck in the right way. I confused the heck out of myself looking at mine at first, because I kept looking at it like it was a mirror image - when its not. Its as if someone pulled out your jaw (nice image I know, stick with it!) and turned it around to face you so you could look at it.
I can't seem to see your clincheck on the blog, must be web filtering at work. Is your top midline slightly to your left? If so, in the clincheck (if its the same format as mine) then to correct that midline it should move left in the image. If someone standing in front of you looking at you would say that your midline was off to their left and the midline moves left in the image - then it would be moving the wrong way. This is all assuming that your clincheck format matches mine.
Hope this clears it up. If you are still unsure, speak to your ortho again.

Thankyou both for your replies
I think I was over analysing things abit last night... I dunno maybe it was abit of shock from having the teeth out or the Valium wearing off...
My Hollywood smile : if you look at the before photos from the link on my first blog entry, you will see that the two teeth I had removed were not the same size or shape as my other teeth-especially the top right one (left on photo).
My ortho said he COULD have moved my teeth enough to push them back in to position and then attach veneers to fix the shape, but because of the positioning, and how small the gap on my top right peg was, it would have meant moving all of the teeth in the top right of my mouth back 6-8mm and he said it would be an extremely long and difficult process that he didn't want to put me through so the easier and better option for me was to take the teeth out.
Sammy: I did have some difficulty at first, but to make it easier, I recorded the video onto my phone, and then held the video under my chin while looking in a mirror-does that make sense?
That way it was the same way round as when I look in the mirror
I have booked an appointment with my ortho for 5.10 this afternoon so hopefully he will put my mind at ease.
Thanks again

I went to see the ortho and basically now the trays have been made that's it - gotta have them. He had a look at my teeth and said they may end up slightly off, but that this can be rectified in the refinement stage.
Obviously I'm not thrilled at the news but I also think that I had worked myself up so much on Monday evening that I made out that the situation is worse than it really is.
I can barely tell that there's anything wrong now tbh and I even had someone tell me today that they'd never noticed anything wrong with the two teeth I had removed and I had to explain what was wrong with them!! It just goes to show that other people don't notice these things!! In my head I always thought that the pegs were probably the first thing people saw!!
I'm excited to be getting my first tray and retainer fitted tomorrow, and finally start this invisalign journey. And I think as with anything I just need to learn to take it one day at a time!
Thanks again for both your help and I hope everything is still going ok for you in your treatment
