It is called vanity (you know you will end up with straight teeth and possibly better than other people's teeth) It is normal.

I love looking at everyone else's teeth. It's actually something I look for in a guy aswell. Has to have lovely teeth...which is why I'm vain about my own teeth I guess ;)

I used to notice people teeth because I suffered from envy (those with straight teeth). Now I notice teeth even more because it's easier to get away with studying people's teeth because people seem to make less eye contact with me since I've been braced. Has anyone noticed that more people tend to look away while in conversation with you...they sometimes seem uncomfortable as if they are worried about staring and offending me with that. I am discrete about spying on people's teeth but perhaps I am caught more than I think and they are looking away because I have made them uncomfortable....I hope not!

Not one person will out right say "You got braces!" Which i think is weird, i mean i have full metal and almost always have red ligs, except now i have dark green. I do see them peeking down at my mouth occasionally, and i just ignore it. I also noticed that when i'm chewing gum people are watching me, maybe they're wondering if i'm allowed to have it? lol.
I still notice everyones teeth, and have seen two parents at my daughters school with braces, a husband and wife. Kinda cute that they're doing it together.

Ohhhh yessss....you are so right. I stare at people's teeth regularly now. It's a braces thing... :)

Regading people looking away, I can't say I have noticed because I am usually one to not keep eye contact for too long. But I really haven't noticed it.

One thing I have not gotten over is having photos, should I or not show the metal. I had to present a trophy after a game last sunday and had to have a photos taken, find it hard to smile so far..... showing the metal of course. just say if I smile, it will just look too... fake.
