did the hospital folks let someone stay with you overnight? my mom is coming with me and just hope she can stay with me. i would be lonesome and scared to stay alone. .........

How old are you and where are you?

Im in the UK and i think if i asked theyd let someone come with me if i was probably up to 20. I am 32 though so will go it alone, nursing staff are normally very good and will help with anything you need.

While the policy probably varies per Hospital, in the US this generally isn't an issue...I have no idea about other countries.

I'd ask beforehand, and if they push back I'd explain the situation. I see no reason they couldn't accommodate.

My husband stayed with me--they even suggested that I might want someone with me.

I'm in the UK, I had to go it alone, visiting policy in different hospitals/wards varies. Nursing/ward staff are trained to look after you and regularly liase with maxillo facial staff if they have concerns. Try not to worry. Hope all goes well.

I think it depends on your age.

I was 25 when I had the surgery. I got out of recovery around 1 p.m. and my mom stayed with me until dinnertime. She came back the next morning. I could have had her stay over, but it's kind of nice to have peace after surgery.
