Overdue update!

Can't believe how fast time has gone since I got these things on! 16 months between the two pictures.

I have Incognito braces (iBraces) coupled with lower ceramics, cost me £6k total.

Overall I'm really happy, I'm still paranoid that my front two teeth aren't perfectly straight, the one with the chip in seems to still be slightly off when I see pictures of myself smiling, does anyone else think the same or am I just crazy?

I have ceramics on the bottom but they look horrible when I take a photo makes my teeth look really yellow and I don't have any before shots of those but they are pretty perfect now

Now I am obsessed with the small chips in them and how the tips of my teeth are kind of uneven if that makes sense? Does anyone know how easy small chips are to have corrected and if you can get teeth squared off so they are straighter at the tips?

Your teeth weren't too bad to begin with really. Not like mine ERRGHH!

Your chip will be fine don't worry. You can get it filed down or they do something called bonding which I learnt from this site is used to cover enamel wearing thin & to sort out chips.

I too have a chip on the same tooth & I'm going to get it sorted once my braces are off. It've bothered me for years.

How have you gotten on with the incognito braces??

These are the brand i'm having fitted in a couple of weeks.

I've read alot of people have problems with speech etc. with lingual braces but not heard if anyone has had problems with incognito braces as they aren't all the same. I've heard incognito are meant to be very good.

Any feedback on speech? Eating etc?

Any regrets?

Hi Lu lu thanks for the kind words

My experience with my incognito braces has been amazing. I forgot they were there after a few weeks, well sort of because you don't feel them but you rush to the mirror every morning to check for movement haha.

My speech was very good even on day one, slight lisp at first and it feels a bit uncomfortable speaking but by about a week or so it was perfect. Only my close family and a couple of my friends actually know about my braces, there are lots of people who I speak to everyday who haven't got a clue.

Eating is fine, at first it feels like the braces are really fragile and I was scared of breaking them, but after about a week or so I was eating absolutely everything, you just have to adjust how you eat but you'll learn how to not bite down on certain hard foods so you don't risk applying too much force to the wires. The only thing I don't eat as normal is apples, I probably could but it feels weird biting into one so I just cut them into slices, problem solved!

My only regret is not getting them sooner, within a couple of months I felt so much happier about my smile they're really worth every penny.

Re-reading that eating part it sounds like I meant they are a bit of a pain when eating, they really aren't, you can eat anything but I just take extra care if I'm tearing tough meat or biting into something hard, I've not had any broken brackets or bent wires yet and I think it's down to taking a little extra care with stuff like that

I noticed you are getting ceramic lowers, in my experience these were much worse than the linguals! So if you get through having those on easily enough the linguals will be a breeze. The ceramics feel really big in your mouth at first and rub your lips, nothing horrible though just a little annoying until you adjust.

In a weird way though all the bad little points make you feel good because they are reminders telling you how good you're teeth are gonna look

I know exactly what you mean about the chip and unevenness I have exactly the same concerns about my own teeth. I think mine will be like that when I'm finished too. I plan on getting them filed down and the chip filled or something. I don't know what I'm just gonna cross that bridge when I come to it. I am sure they can fix that problem these days though.

Yeah I saw my regular dentist and he said just ring and book in and he can even them out and sort out the chip so it seems like it's easily sorted!
