Anything reassuring Anyone can say about Lefort I?

#1 Post by Neverloved »

Hi,

I need a Lefort I, but I'm reading nothing but worrying reports about complications and post op difficulties concerning the procedure. Is there anyone who can tell me anything genuinely reassuring about it?

What effect does it have on your Jasmine and your cheeks?

You get fuller cheeks, apparently I look several years younger. This effect will decrease though. I had no complications and I have only experienced pain jaw a few times.. Like, when my nerves started to wake up, that's it :)

I had Lefort 1, and I have no complaints so far. Recovery has been what you'd expect after getting your face cracked open, but nothing unmanageable or anything.

Honestly, I gave not read any terribly negative reports about lefort (or most other procedures). My advice is that if you need it, do it. The benefits seem to VASTLY outweigh any negative aspects.

Edit Jasmine -> Jawline. Apparently randomly clicking "spellcheck" on most browsers is not a good idea. :/

So cheeks are fuller, meaning...a more defined cheekline and less hollowness? Can anyone (any surgeons here, perhaps?) be more precise on the effects that the Lefort impaction/advancement and possibly SARPE would have on the cheekbone, zygomatic process and zygomatic arch?

I've read that SARPE gives a more chiseled appearance (good), yet I've also heard it causes unnaturally high cheekbones and hollow cheeks (bad).

When you keep looking for things on the internet, you're bound to find mostly issues, questions, concerns, horror stories, etc. Many people have orthognathic surgery every day. A vast majority of them are not on this message board. Therefore, you can't pull statistics from here. And, the people that do come here are often times dealing with a problem and are seeking support.

The fact is a vast majority of people on this message board would speak highly of the procedure, and as goes life, they move on and unfortunately you don't get to hear their success story...or maybe it is buried 50,000 posts ago!!

My personal experience was horrible, but the horror only lasts for 1-2 weeks. What's 1-2 weeks to gain the results that you want? It was worth it for me, and I wish I had done it sooner.

So you saw results within 2 weeks. That sounds good. :)

Speaking of which, does anyone have any before and after pictures for a Lefort I?

you will rarely see succes stories on the internet unless you follow very specific people blog. Normally forums are filled with horror stories. The worst thing to do is search the internet for anything related to health. You know how google works right ? The most cliked links goes out first. Example if you look for specific symptoms that are present in cancer then you have 95% chances that first results are related to cancer when you only have an infection... stupid but it's how it work about the same for surgeries.

Neverloved, this thread has some before and after pics of me. Keep in mind that these are only from the front, and only 2 weeks after surgery. I had lefort I and BSSO to correct an underbite.
