Sorry to hear about your dry sockets....they....SUCK!!!!!!!!!! :x :x :x

I got a tooth pulled 3 days before my wedding, and....the day before(wedding) I got a dry socket. Not good. Not good at all. I feel your pain, and I'm sending you telepathic vibes that you'll get better, feel better, and that good things will start to go your way. Good Luck to you.

Hang in there. I know it doesn't seem like it now, but it will get better.

Thank you jensceana73. This is horrible.

My other extraction is feeling a little better, the clove gauze that was packed in there fell out and now there is just a black hole...but it doesnt really hurt. Where is my blood clot? Sorry i know this all sounds a little sickening, but i not sure as to what a healthy socket should look like.

I feel like death

I don't have the experience of tooth extractions, but I do know that everything passes. You'll heal and you'll be able to pass along your experience with others who are going through the same thing. Keep the faith!

DAY 12, extraction is still open. Im over it. If i could swear on this right now i would. Dentist rang me said he will be away for a week. Great.
Doubt ill be able to have my upper wire put on the 30th Nov, if i turn up to my ortho with an open hole in my mouth.

Your extraction gap is not going to close for a pretty long time. I got my extraction on May 1, and we're still trying to close the gap. I got my wire put across the gap about 1 week after the extraction, so you should be able to get yours soon! As long as the site is reasonably healed, it should be fine. Crossing my fingers for you...

Thanks for the comment catgyrl.....what i meant to say is that the extraction doesnt even have signs of healing. I understand that it takes time but the one on my left is well on its way. The nasty one on the right looks exactly the way it did the day i got them extracted.

Huge black hole, compltely opened with absoutely no sign of a clot etc.... Boo this is crap. Ill super glue it if it stays like this for another week!

UPDATE: The evil right extraction is showing signs of healing! Finally. Stupid thing.

Ive had my ceramics on for 3 weeks and 1 day! I have def noticed movement already....family noticed too! Its the upper bad boys that im worried about.

Getting my lingual wire fitted in 5 days, happy, but not looking forward to the pain. Ive been a zombie the last 2 weeks because of these extractions! I have lost a bit of weight. The only upside, considering the scortching heat of summer has arrived in Australia.

OFF TOPIC: Sending love and kisses to Greymouth. r.i.p all 29 miners xx

Great this just keeps getting better and better....I have chip on my tooth caused by hitting the lingual bracket, even though my ortho said this was impossible.
Oh yeh ok, just like it was impossible to get a dry socket if i didnt smoke or drink of of a straw...

oh and ive developed the delightful habit of clenching my jaw at night. Yay for me  Having a grand old day today. :(
Getting lingual wire tomorrow.

Let me know if the wire changes your speech at all. Fingers crossed it doesn't.

I worry about chipping my lower teeth on my upper brackets too.

I did wake up most nights when I first had it fitted because my lower teeth caught my upper brackets in my sleep. Hasn't happened last few days or I don't notice it now.

I wonder if linguals cause you to clench your teeth when sleeping because i've noticed i've started doing this. I don't know if I did it before or not but never in my life noticed it before until I got my upper lingual. WEIRD!!!!! :?

Sorry you're having a bad day. Keep smiling & remember the end result will be worth it & it won't last forever but your smile will :D

Ok so got my lingual wire fitted yesterday. Yet another object in my mouth. Tongue says NOT HAPPY.

Im surprised at how different the pain is. Lower ceramics were much more painful.

Unfofrtunetly my speech has changed once again, but im sure this will ease in a week or so. Ortho told me that i will be getting TADs on January 25th 2011, with tiny elastics to start closing up the extractions. More injections

I havent heard anything about an adjustment? Is this strange? I wont be going back to the ortho until January, and my ceramics will have been fitted 12 weeks ago and linguals 8 weeks. Plus he isnt the one fitting my with the screws another ortho will be doing it. So when the heck do i get an adjustment???
3 months in ceramics seems a little long. Should i ring him?

Hi Guys,

When one of you has a sec could someone read the last two of my post and answer some questions. Still a little confused about whats happening with my adjustments.

Ive had my lower ceramics on for 4 weeks and 5 days, I have noticed a very big improvement :jump:

Upper linguals not hurting that much, but speech is pretty terrrible.oh well. Only noticed on the weekend that one of my very badly crooked teeth is not wired!

Mouth is so dry, and sound pretty lispy at the office today. Also dont think im really making any effort to open my mouth at all! My beloved German Shepard got put down over the weekend, had him for 14 years...feel so crappy. Braces have nothing on that pain. R.I.P Boss x
