Hello!

I was hoping you'd be back to update us. :D I love your lavender and blue ligs. I tried your suggestion about sprinkling the baking soda on my toothbrush, and that worked much better. Will save the peroxide for cuts and scrapes. Haha

How long has it been since you had your extractions? They look like they won't take much longer to close. As for me, instead of one big gap, now I have 2 medium-sized ones. Not sure I'm happy about that...

Great progress, sistah!

No complaining, you! :P I'm closing my SARPE gap, and now instead of one big gap, I have four!

LOL Bracketracket!

Your gaps aren't BIG, though. And that front one started closing up SO quickly after the power chain went on! That is too awesome. I almost wish I had a powerchain across all my gaps, because it would make them less noticeable. Now, when I smile my tongue pops out between my teeth.

Bucket, your teeth are just gorgeous. We all bow down to you...

"Bucket" should read "Buckey" of course. All these changes and still no edit button...

Thanks BracketRacket and Catgyrl!

These teefs of mine have been on the move since my adjustment! I have had more brackets rubbing than ever! Thanks to wax, I may be able to start my own personal wax museum. :D

Catgyrl, I'm excited the toothpaste and bs worked for you! It's a huge difference when you're able to take your mind off the gawd awful flavor. Once you become a pro like me you'll take it straight up! Your holes will close quicker than you think when they get things to shift in the right direction (no pun intended:)

HeyBuckey!

I've read your story and wow! Your teeth look absolutely amazing, now it's just time for the home stretch! I've always told all my friends it's easy to have braces on when you see your teeth are not straight, but when they are almost straight, that's when things get tough cause all you can think about is getting those suckers off! I had my first premolars taken out, all 4 of them. So like you, I'm currently playing the waiting game of 2 gaps closing up :-+ . Hopefully it won't be too much longer because I keep fantasizing about life post-braces. You know, the life where you walk down the street, see an attractive person and flash them a smile without giving it a second thought. *Sigh* What a nice life huh  ?

I'm glad you got your adjustment after so long, it must be nice after such a long wait! And good color choices on the ligs, I've always been scared to branch out from my usual silver. I just had a quick question, I read that you brush with baking soda and then do a rinse with hydrogen peroxide? I started doing a rinse with HP as well every night till I read somewhere else on this board that someone's dentist said to avoid doing it to much because after they take the braces off, your teeth will be discolored where the brackets were. Have you heard anything different? Anyways, congratulations on your progress and I look forward to your next post :D !

Hey all!

Tasha Fierce! Hi! I dig your name 8). Thank you so very much for stopping by my thread!

Oh my goodness! You are right! I swore I would be ready to get these suckers off soon until I recently went to my new Ortho. Then I thought, "Oh boy! Have they got their work cut out for them!" To make my self feel better and look toward the sunny side of things, I have curly hair and decided that once I get my braces off, I'll straighten these curls which I haven't done in almost 2 years. Of course, that all will not be happening until the beginning of 2012 if they stick with 14 more months.

Were you snooping in on my thoughts or something? That is exactly how I feel when I see an attractive person come my way!!! I have a full-bown mental conversation of if I should smile with or without teeth . And, I've been thinking about my debanding day more than usual. I think that's just the nature of having braces after a year...I hope those gaps of yours close soon! It can be such a pain waiting for that day to see how your bite is going to look officially, closed gaps and all.

That adjustment after 6 months was the best thing since sliced bread for me! I was in a little pain for those first two weeks directly after. I also feared decalcification which I did get a little of but am getting plenty of vitamin d and am on a strict brushing regimen of baking soda and peroxide only to get my teeth back into shape to strengthen my enamel...Speaking of bs and hp . I know the docs say to not use a whitening toothpaste or mouthrinse because of potential tooth discoloration, but Buckey's a bit of a rebel and anti-fluoride . The combo together do so much more than just whiten your teeth, they change the whole environment of your mouth if used properly, especially with braces. Whitening just happens to be an added benefit. However, if my Ortho asked me to stop using it because it's discoloring my teeth (she'd know before I would) I would kind of abide, since I can't find a good natural toothpaste without whitening in stores and would have to buy it online .

AW!!! Hi kgstar!

I'm glad we could help! This is a 6 month plus journey filled with stress, confusion and tension that comes from everyday life alone. If we don't laugh...we'll end up boo hooing in the corner somewhere. :P Well...at least I know I would.

Hello fellow Metal Mouths! (Or porcelain and metal :P)

I had my 2nd adjustment with the new Orth today and here are my progress pics!

This is my new Avatar! Yay!

Bite pic (which is practically together!)

It was strange today. I finally got a powerchain and was going for the gold but they only had it in ligs, so I went for this dark red and here are some pics of how I'm chained together.

This is my left side

When I first saw these I was a little freaked out that I got a couple of ligs on my canines and lateral incisors. I was also freaked out that there was no chain between the two and I fear getting all gappy. But who cares! I'll let my Ortho work her magic. 8)

Also, *sigh* you can see some decalcification that I didn't notice I had on my left side. I obviously am not paying enough attention to it. Now I'm praying that if I brush furiously and thoroughly to get my enamel levels back up, that I will not have to worry about getting it fixed when it's time that I get these bad boys removed. I kid you not I think this occurred when I went to the dentist recently because I did not have this problem before. :-=

On a better note! Happy brushing ladies and gents from your pal Buckey!!!!

Ellebraced! Hello and welcome! Thank you so very much for the compliment  Those before pics were some real doozies weren't they?

Yup! I'm a bonafide rebel . My theory is, if they got white using baking soda and peroxide before, then baking soda and peroxide will get them white again and again! I say go for it sister! Check and see if it will benefit you then you'll know for sure what to map out for your smile :). Remember if you're a little concerned about flavor, sprinkle bs on top of your toothpaste until you get used to the flavor. I don't want to upset any stomachs!

Kgstar! You brought a smile to my face :). Thanks for the compliment, and to make matters not worse but interesting, I had a job interview on Friday. I was kind of nervous about showing up with red and metal on my teeth, but once I got comfortable, I remembered I was the only weirdo who stared in other people's mouths.

Just as I suspected...I'm getting all gappy between my upper lateral incisors and canines on BOTH sides!

This better work. :? I'll definitely be posting pics of this soon!
