So who's sick of thinking about their teeth?

#1 Post by luchababe »

Every day there's something to think of. To brush or not to brush after lunch? How was my flossing last night? New teeth hurt and others don't out of the blue. Is something aching or is it just me thinking about it that's making it ache? :-= New wires, new appointments, new problems, it's really getting to me this month!

Let's see if I can change the subject.

Is everyone done their holiday shopping? I just discovered Gogol Bordello and love all their songs. TEETH. I finally saw Inception, don't see why people have problems understanding the ending. TEETH. I got a great brownie recipe if anyone wants it. Funny how a new haircut can really lift your mood. TEETH BRACES TEETH. What's your favourite Christmas song? TOOTH.

See? It almost always come back to teeth!

*sigh*
End rant.

I also recently saw inception. My husband and I had contrasting ideas about what the end meant and were each equally convinced of our own interpretation. Oh well. I like my ending, I'm sticking with it!!!!

And teeth. Soooooo boring. Especially these days I've had my braces so long and my friends and family are entirely uninterested now.

At least we have this place to come and rant.

Now you must excuse me, its time to brush my teeth :(

Luchababe you are funny. Thank gosh for this website because I am sure my husband and family is sick of the only topic I want to discuss.

I would LOVE that brownie recipe (can't eat any of my other favorite treats....oh except cheese cake, yummmmy)

I finally finished shopping last Tuesday thank gosh. My teeth have been taking up too much of my time. S**T there I go talking about my bloody teeth again.

I hope to see that movie next week..... maybe not because then I won't be able to eat popcorn :(
Favourite movie that I ALWAYS watch at Christmas time is LOVE ACTUALLY.

I did go for 5 seconds last night not thinking about my teeth. I went to grab my favourite Cashew/nuts snacks from Costco as I was making supper and realized I can't have them for another 923 days or so but who's counting  Why didn't I get braces when I needed to lose 30 pounds last year, it would have been a whole lot easier than working out.

Sammy, Enjoy brushing your teeth I think ( as I finish a raspberry protein shake) that I might be able to get away with water pik and mouth wash. my teeth sure feel clean :-*

Here's that brownie recipe: http://www.food.com/recipe/rich-and-che ... ies-116119 It's the applesauce that makes it awesome.

This time of year I must watch a few of the following:
Scrooged
Home Alone (one of Kevin's sisters has braces)
Gremlins
Jingle All the Way
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Trading Places

No Wonderful Life or Miracle on 34th Street for me!

Now, back to teeth - I got a new thick square wire on the top yesterday morning. Now the molars on the top hurt when I eat. But that's not what I want to talk about. It's this - never before have I felt this - when I take a mouthful of cold drink I can feel the wire click! Like it's contracting in the cold liquid then expanding with the warmth of my mouth! I can feel it tighten and tug on the brackets, I can even hear it click once it a while.

You guys are too funny!! :)

I realize that I'm way OCD about this stuff .. it'll probably fade after I get braced.

Loved Inception. Debated a bit about the ending.. I'm pretty sure I have an idea on the issue if he's awake or not. Course, I heard a spoiler from reading an article about Michael Caine...

That sounds funky luchababe, an actual clicking noise??

Movies I'll probably watch:

Shutter Island
Kick Ass

No Christmas movies for me...

I for one am sick to DEATH of thinking about, talking about, worrying about, ____ insert whatever, my TEETH!

I just had an appt today and got a rotation wedge and a spacer for a new band. I WANT TO BE DONE! This originally started out as more of a cosmetic plan and now that the TEETH are all falling into place other ones are acting up. OH MY GOSH! I thought I'd be done by now. My original time frame was 6 months and if it hadn't been for me wanting some tweaking I think I'd have been done in about 7. Then the ortho wanted to tweak, then me, then her, then me. Now I'm at 9 months with no flippin' end in sight. I am going to see if I can just go for a full year...why not? I'm so close as it is. Lol

My whole day is filled with wondering about my teeth, feeling my teeth, am I ruining my teeth b/c I didn't brush and floss with lunch, will my teeth ever be movie star white again? lol It's a manic obsession!

LOVED Inception btw and Shutter Island. Made me forget about my TEETH for a while.

Oh - Ellebraced - I always watch Love, Actually, too! LOOOOOOVE Alan Rickman.

I am to the point where I am tired of these braces. The novelty has worn off, the biggest issues I had with my teeth (the overlapping 2 top front and bottom crooked) are fixed, and now it is just boring. So, yes - really tired of worrying about what's stuck in my brackets all day long, having to waterpik every night, and flossing with threaded floss!

OMG!! That was too funny. It made me feel so much better. Even on some of the replies to my posts I sense some members fed up with my redundant questions. At least its not as bad as my family who just ignore me!
I think about my teeth all the time, what they look like now, what they will look like with braces, which ones I should get, what food I wont be able to eat, what food will stain my teeth,.... it goes on and on.
Everyday I stuff my face thinking I only got 10 more days so I better get my 2 years worth of no-no foods.
I am sure once I get them put on, some of my obsession will go away but who knows.
Oh and I almost fell off my bed laughing so hard at the comment about going to the movies but not wanting to cause then you would want popcorn which we cant eat!!!! We were supposed to go to the movies too and skipped out....well now I am going to make sure we go so I can get my filling of popcorn!!
BTW - I have not seen Inception :( I am so broke especially with the expense of the braces that we have to wait for movie codes to get free redbox movies!
This was a great subject and even though we still talked about our braces we all shared how its an involuntary obsession!
Like always, I can sleep better knowing I am not alone.

I have 48 more hours (give or take) left with naked teeth.

My husband says I obsess.

I loved this post and give it two very enthusiastic thumbs up. Even though I can't think of anything else to talk about right now.

And that's the tooth.

I have around 15 or so more hours of naked teeth. I've eaten Doritos and Mrs. Fields' cookies and popcorn and I'm hoping to get it all out of my system. :-*

I guess when I'm out of the chair, I'll start my braces story. I'm supposed to get my new video camera delivered (a Christmas present that got a wee bit delayed) tomorrow as well.

I'll probably have to knock myself out with some Tylenol PM. Heh.
